CRATE MOTOR KID STRIKES AGAIN

The Quality Car Care Limited Late Models saw Tacoma, Washington’s #28 Billy Weber set fast time with a 14.09. The #49 Steven Roberts brought the field around for the start of the 50-lap Main Event, but the #6 Devin Eierman jumped out to the early lead. Eierman led the first two laps until current point’s leader, Centralia, Washington’s #98 JJ Hamilton took the lead. Hamilton, known as the “Crate Motor Kid” because he runs a Chevrolet Spec motor, went on to win his fifth race of the season.
The Limited Late Model Main Event was caution free. Hamilton said, “It was a good thing because at the start of the race, my transmission was making lots of noise and grinding when I was trying to shift. I was lucky to get into fourth gear. If we had had a restart, I might not have made it to the end tonight”. Rounding out their top five were runner up Weber, Dave Cline, Steven Roberts, and Bobby Moore.
The Hinkle Homes Pure Stocks saw Yelm, Washington’s #70 Rick Casebolt set fast time with a 16.80. The winner of Heat A was #27 Brian Wilson. The winner of Heat B was #28 Ron Mason. Their Main Event winner, winning his seventh race of the season, was current point’s leader, Longview, Washington’s #15 Scott Johnson. Rounding out their top five were Casebolt, Mason, Jay Henderson, and Leon Collins.
The Lacey Auto Wrecking Bumblebees saw #77 Devin Matthews win their Heat 1. #20 Eric Franson won Heat 2. Their Main Event winner was Tacoma, Washington’s #29 Kyle Matthews. Rounding out their top five were Chris Pitcock, Devin Matthews, Franson, and Jeff Kessler.
The AMRS Mini Cup Future Stars saw Puyallup, Washington’s #15 Tyler Shipman set fast time with a 17.549. Their Heat race winner was #12 Kayla Roberts. Winning their Main Event was Shipman, followed by Roberts, Nik Larson, and Dustin Torrey.
The AMRS Mini Cup Open Division saw University Place, Washington’s #1 Dan Larson set fast time with a 16.747. Their Heat race winner was #11 Aaron Stanley. Winning their Main Event was Stanley followed by Larson and Justin Rogers.
The Northwest Baby Grands saw Puyallup, Washington’s #43 Steven Roberts have a big night of racing. Roberts set fast time with a lap of 15.085. He also won their Heat race and the Main Event. Rounding out their top five were runner up Brooke Lefor, Lash Larew, Cody Stewart, and Brandon Barlow.
The Top Notch Trailer Street Stocks saw Olympia, Washington’s #12 Bobby Micielli set fast time with a 15.383. Their Heat race winner was Jay Hopkins. The Main Event finishing order was Micielli, Cody Erskine, and Hopkins.
Racing returns to South Sound Speedway for two fantastic nights of racing for the Labor Day weekend featuring a Saturday, September 1, 2007 line up of Super Stocks, Pro 4 Trucks, Vintage Modifieds, Mini Stocks, and Bumblebees. Sunday, September 2, 2007, will have the Limited Late Models, Street Stocks, Pure Stocks, Baby Grands, and Mini Cup Open Division, Mini Cup Future Stars. Back gate opens at 1:00 PM; front gate opens at 4:45 PM with qualifying starting at 5:00 PM, and racing at 6:30 PM.
