FOUR PENALIZED FOR RECENT DISPUTES AT ORANGE SHOW SPEEDWAY SAN BERNARDINO – Orange Show Speedway has suspended one driver and placed three others on probation as a result of incidents that occurred during recent races at the ASA-sanctioned quarter-mile oval.

Jim Mardis, the reigning ASA Stock Pony champion, has been suspended for the balance of the year while Tony Forfa III, Ryan Becker and Derek Becker have been placed on probation for the remainder of the season.

Mardis, 22, was suspended effective Aug. 25 for violating Orange Show Speedway rules 6-1.3, 6-1.2 and 1-18.1 during that night’s races. Rule 6-1.3 covers profanity, discourteous gestures and behavior detrimental to the sport. Rule 6-1.2 deals with rough driving, among other items, and Rule 1-18.1 addresses dangerous and/or erratic driving in the pit area.

Mardis, of Riverside, had been placed on probation following an incident with Stock Pony rival Jim Edmiston July 28.

Forfa III and the Beckers were placed on probation for violating rule 6-1.3, behavior detrimental to the sport, during their altercation in the pit area following a Jr. Mini StocKar race Aug. 18.

There is no stock car racing at Orange Show Speedway this weekend, although the OSS Quarter Midget Racing Association will be hosting its Desert Shootout invitational. The stock cars will return with the Hype Manufacturing Super Late Models, ASA Pro 4s, Aflac Factory Fours, Stock Cars USA, Mini StocKars and the final Demolition Derby of the season.

Racing at Orange Show Speedway is sponsored by Lucas Oil, Blackhawk Protection, Hype Manufacturing, Del Taco, Aflac Insurance, KTTD radio (AM 1350), Leno’s Rico Taco, Soboba Casino, Budweiser, Hoosier Racing Tires, Frank’s Radio Service, Torco Racing Fuels, Parker Pumper/BSR West, Eibach Springs, JP Striping, Center Chevrolet, Pepsi, Matich Coporation, L.
