STOCKCAR RACING LEAGUE TOURING SERIES CELEBRATES THE LABOR DAY HOLIDAY WEEKEND AT MADERA SPEEDWAY

WILTON, California -- The StockCar Racing League (SRL) Touring Series will kick off the Labor Day holiday weekend at Madera Speedway this Saturday, September 1st with the final round of the California HotWood Tri-Holiday Series. Veteran Dave Byrd (Seaside, CA) will try to hold on to his position on top of the SRL points standings while Valley Spring’s Tracy Bolin and brothers Steve and Jeff Belletto continue to try to catch him with just two races left on the schedule. The Victory Circle Chassis and Parts rookie of the year competition is equally as close with the 18 car of Pleasanton’s Todd Bammer just 2 points ahead of Bryan Herzog (Clovis, CA) in the 11 car and only 6 points ahead of young Porter Smith in the 62 car out of Aztec, New Mexico.

This is the 3rd and final race of three holiday weekend events in 2007 at Madera Speedway sponsored by California HotWood. “We have really enjoyed joining with California HotWood and Madera Speedway in celebrating each of the three holiday weekends,” said Steve Fensler, executive series director for the SRL. “With the SRL points races so close, we expect a great race for the final round of the California HotWood Tri-Holiday Series.”

About the Stockcar Racing League (SRL):

The SRL is one of the premier stock car racing series in the country. The series has patterned itself after NASCAR’S Elite Series with beautifully prepared cars and support vehicles, and identifiable team uniforms. This seventh season looks to break all attendance records, attracting over 70 seasoned drivers from all over California and the southwestern states. Local and regional stock car fans can also cheer for new stars that will someday drive the machines of NASCAR. The series is a training ground, not only for drivers but for crew chiefs, mechanics and engineers. This series is great for fans who love door to door racing on some of the fastest oval tracks in the West.####
