HEADING TO MADERA WITH 3 CARSSRL WILD WEST SHOOTOUT
Source: Nascimento Motorsports Marketing/dn
For a first time this season Greg Potts will wipe the dust off his former SWT car and drive in the SRL series. The car had been semi-retired after NASCAR discontinued the SWT series in 2006. The team brought it back into racing form over the last month to see if there’s any fire left in the tank. “We’ve been so busy trying to get the Late Model program going we haven’t had time to touch the Tour car” Greg said. “I can’t wait to get back out there and run in the SRL series, Steve Fensler runs such a great program and I am really excited to be a part of such a great show the drivers put on for the fans at these Hot wood races” Potts will also attempt to run his 3rd Western Late Model race of the year at Madera behind the wheel of his Sta-Rite/Aqua Pool & Spa sponsored Chevy. Potts has run very well as of late coming off a 3rd place run at Altamont on August 4th and a 3rd place earlier in the year at Madera. Also Rookie Late model driver Eric Nascimento will be competing in his Pebble Tec/ Aqua Pool & Spa Chevy. Eric is fresh off a good run at Madera on Sept 18th when he marched his car from his 16th starting position up to 5th place before getting spun out on lap 60 to finish 11th. The crew knows it will be a challenge on Saturday, but they appear to be up for it. Weather is expected to be near triple digits and the crew will be wrenching on 3 different cars but they wouldn’t change it for anything. Nascimento Motorsports is brought to you by: Aqua Pool & Spa, Pebble Tec, Pentair Pool Products, Vintage Outdoor Living, Pool Supplies & More, A & A Manufacturing, B & D Towing, Miracle Auto Body of Stockton, Paul Cardoso Transport, Greg Potts Racing, Gunsch Electric, Friendly Chevrolet, and Economy Signs. About the Stockcar Racing League (SRL):
The SRL is one of the premier stock car racing series in the country. The series has patterned itself after NASCAR’S Elite Series with beautifully prepared cars and support vehicles, and identifiable team uniforms. This seventh season looks to break all attendance records, attracting over 70 seasoned drivers from all over California and the southwestern states. Local and regional stock car fans can also cheer for new stars that will someday drive the machines of NASCAR. The series is a training ground, not only for drivers but for crew chiefs, mechanics and engineers. This series is great for fans who love door to door racing on some of the fastest oval tracks in the West.
