FIVE WINS FOR GILL AT SOUTH SOUND SPEEDWAYSOUTH SOUND SPEEDWAY

The #7 Matthews brought the field around for the start of the 25-Lap race and led the first lap. The #11 Pruitt led the second lap, until Bracale took the lead on lap three with Gill on her bumper. On lap four, Gill went to the lead, never looked back, and went on to win his fourth Mini Stock Main Event in a row and his fifth of the season. Rounding out their top five were runner up Bracale, Hansel, Matthews, and Shaffer. The Northwest Outlaw Street Stocks Dennis Smitham Memorial saw 34 Drivers attempting to qualify for 22 positions in their 75-Lap Main Event. Spanaway, Washington’s #21 Kevin Carver set fast time with a 15.590. Their Trophy Dash winner was the #25 Robert Greiner. The top three in their A Heat were winner Eric Lee, Josh Wilson, and Greiner. The top three in their B Heat were winner Brian Carpenter, Mike Press, and Dave Lund. Winning their 15-Lap, B Main was Wade Archer. The #16 Dustin Kagele brought the field around for the start and led the first two laps until the #77 Mark Gerlein went for the lead and led until lap five. On lap six, Kagele regained the lead. The #25 Greiner ran down Kagele and passed him for the lead on lap 52. East Wenatchee, Washington’s Greiner went on to win the third and last race of the season for the Northwest Outlaw Street Stocks at South Sound Speedway. Rounding out their top five were runner up Kagele, Lund, Gerlein, and Mike Easley. The Foreign Stock Car Racing Association Super 4’s saw Rochester, Washington’s #5 Wayne Dillon setting fast time with a 14.489, winning the Trophy Dash and also winning the A-Heat, followed by Cody Stewart and Kevin Koepke. Their top three in the B-Heat were winner #14 Ted Mundy, Robert Golden, and Bob Quarterman. Tacoma, Washington’s #22 David Callender, brought the field around for the green flag, but it was Tacoma, Washington’s #44 Koepke that led the first lap. Koepke would then lead the field for the remainder of the 25-Lap race to go on to win the FSCRA Super 4’s Main Event. Rounding out their top five were runner up Dan Hale, Jerry Koepping, Callender, and Quarterman. The Winged Sprint Cars saw #3N Doug McLees setting fast time with a 12.475. The winner of the Trophy Dash was #26 Dan Fisher. The finishing order in their Heat-1 was winner McLees, Rally Root, Jim Walker, and Glen Walker. The finishing order in their Heat-2 was winner Ray Lince, Fisher, Kyle Secord, and Richard Harriman. Camano Island, Washington’s #19X Secord brought the field around for the start and led the first seven laps. Fisher took over to lead the next 19 laps. Taking his turn leading was McLees for the next three laps when Fisher got past him to take the checkered flag, leading the last lap and winning the Sprints 30-Lap Main Event. Rounding out their top five were runner up McLees, Lince, Harriman, and Secord. Racing returns to South Sound Speedway on Saturday, September 15, 2007 with the Super Stock 100, WMRA, Bumblebee Championships, and the Pure Stocks. Back gate opens at 1:00 PM; front gate opens at 4:45 PM with qualifying starting at 5:00 PM, and racing at 6:30 PM. South Sound Speedway Race Results -- 09/08/2007
