A field of 20 Limited Late Models was lining up to qualify for the Quality Car Care Limited Late Model main event when the sky opened up and rained out qualifying. The 50-Lap Championship race was lined up by the seasons points standings, putting Centralia, Washington’s #98 JJ Hamilton and Tacoma, Washington’s #28 Billy Weber on the front row. Hamilton and Weber brought the field around for the start and battled side by side for the first five laps with Hamilton winning the battle for the lead. Hamilton would go on to win his sixth Main Event of the season. Rounding out their top five were runner up Weber, Brandon Finch, Chris Hallberg, and John Boyatt. Driver JJ Hamilton, Car Owner Mike Barrett, and crew have had great success this season running the Chevrolet crate motor. The Barrett Motorsports race team’s hard work paid off by winning six of the 11 races, Rookie of the Year, and their first Limited Late Model Championship in 2007. The Top Notch Trailer Street Stocks saw Bonney Lake, Washington’s #17 Cody Erskine set fast time with a 15.603 and lead from green to checkered in their 20-Lap Main Event. Rounding out their top four were runner up Bobby Micielli, Jay Hopkins, and Duane Lacy. The Foreign Stock Car Racing Association Super 4’s were not able to get their qualifying in, so they also lined up by points for their race. Bringing their field around for the green was points leader Rochester, Washington’s #5 Wayne Dillon. Leading the first three laps was the #44 Kevin Koepke, then Dillon resumed the lead and went on to win their 18-Lap Championship Main Event and also take the 2007 Foreign Stock Car Racing Association Super 4 2007 Championship. Rounding out their top five were runner up Koepke, Jeff Jones, Matt Melby, and Dan Hale. The Vintage Modifieds saw Puyallup, Washington’s #38 Kevin Rinkel set fast time with a 15.223. The #32 Ed Kvistad brought the field around for the green flag, but it was the #88 Robert Rux that led the first 14 laps. On lap 15, Rinkel took over the lead and went on to win their 25-Lap Championship Main Event. Rounding out their top five were runner up Rux, Bob Fulmer, Kiel Hobbs, and Mike Clother. Clother would also take the 2007 Vintage Modifieds 2007 Championship. The Military Appreciation night crowd enjoyed the National Anthem sung by Tom Horner, a member of the Navy Band Northwest. South Sound Speedway wants to thank everyone for attending and the Navy for providing the vocalist.
