TUCSON RACEWAY PARK: BEAUTY AND THE BEAST!TUCSON, Arizona -- Tucson Raceway Park's own NASCAR Mini Stock point's leader, beautiful Becky Harrington started the evening out with fast time in Mini Stock qualifying. She then followed that up with a dominating win in the Trophy Dash. The Zero/NADA/None Under 21 Night at the Races was packed with fans and seven classes of competition. The evening's first heat race was all Suave Brachowski in the #5 Legend over young Blake Leuth. The second heat saw Joe Paladenic take the win over P.J.Megna in the TRP Modifieds. The NASCAR Mini Stocks were again Harrington over David Bosley. As usual, the NASCAR Factory Stock heat race was a nail bitter with former champion, Jerry Gaede subbing for Loren Sheffield in the Fast Racing 96 leading the first couple of laps with three abreast racing throughout the field. At the checker, it was Casey Rohrer over Tom Mikla. The first NASCAR Late Model heat was all last week's winner, Mike Egurola over Mat Williams. The NASCAR Late Model second heat would be Rick "The Butler" Butler leading until the white flag lap when Joe Paladenic got by for the win. The TRP Bombers were next up and Shawn Perrin would best Bob Davis and Mitch Milner. The TRP Bomber Lites were all Neon as Lyle Gallegos beat Kyle Milburg to the flag. The INEX Legend feature event was led until the half way mark by young Blake Leuth, when, eventual winner, Suave Brachowski would slip by and lead to the end with Leuth taking second and Robert Scott getting a well deserved third. The TRP Modified Feature event was more of the same as Joe Paladenic, once again doing double duty lead to the cross flags when P.J. Megna would slip by and take the lead to the finish over Paladenic and the always spectacular Pat Bush. When the NASCAR Mini Stocks appeared on the pavement the fans thought it would be Harrington again and indeed she would win another over Bosley and Tammy Lynn. Harrington has won a track leading seven races so far this season and is the current point's leader. The NASCAR Factory Stocks were again a great battle to the finish with Rohrer winning over point's leader Tom Mikla and Gaede.

Last week's hard charger award winner, Brian Harrington, would lead the field to the green for the forty lap NASCAR Late Model feature. After two circuits, Matt Levin would lead over Egurola as Mat Williams was charging from the rear like a man possessed. Williams took the lead on lap ten and would check out with Egurola in second and Ron Norman up to third. On lap 35, William's engine would expire bringing out the first caution of the feature. On the restart, Egurola would lead over Norman and Joe Paladenic whom had clawed his way patiently up from the rear of the field. At the end of forty laps, Egurola would make it two in a row over Norman and Paladenic.

After Egurola graciously thanked the enthusiastic crowd for coming out we would witness a TRP first. Supporting Tucson Raceway Park's Zero/NADA/None Under 21 program tonight would be the beautiful and daring Miss Arizona, Nicole Turner, whom would climb into Shawn Perrin's Bomber for a thrill of a lifetime as a passenger in a real race car competing in TRP's all new entry level class. Perrin and co-driver Nicole Turner would lead the first lap until TRP's flagman in the TRP Bomber would tag Perrin in turn four sending them into the infield. After a few anxious moments, Perrin and Turner would restart at the rear of the field. Mitch Milner would lead until lap five when Bob Davis would take the point until the end over Milner and Perrin. In the victory ceremonies, Davis would accept his well earned trophy with Miss Arizona whom delighted the crowd with her candid humor. The final feature of the night would be the Bomber Lites and after ten screaming laps around the oval it would be first time winner Kyle Milburg over Lyle Gallegos and George Milburg.

The night would come to a close with the fans wanting more action with the Beauty, Nicole Turner and the Beast, Mitch Milner. Next week the Beast will be in his familiar spot, flagging the Desert Diamond Casino's 100 lap Late Model feature event. See ya there!####
