BROWNSBURG, Indiana -- All Ringers Gloves NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Winner’s Circle celebrations seem to be an on-going trend this season. Ringers’ racers in all four professional categories racked up Wally trophies at the O’Reilly Fall Nationals at Texas Motorplex in Ennis, Tex.

Before I get to congratulating our winners, I would like to send well wishes and positive thoughts out to John Force and all the John Force Racing teams. Everyone in the drag racing world knows about the tragic death with Eric Medlen in March this year, on Sunday during second round of Funny Car action, the patriarch of the Force racing camp, John himself, was injured in a top-end accident with Kenny Bernstein.

According to sources from NHRA.com, Bernstein and Force’s cars collided sending both cars hard into the retaining walls. Bernstein, although shaken up, escaped unscathed, while the impact from Force’s hit caused several injuries which in turn had him airlifted to Baylor University’s hospital; a broken left ankle, severe abrasion on his right knee, severely dislocated left wrist and severe abrasions and slight fractures on several fingers on his right hand. Force has already undergone surgeries on his left ankle and his wrist to set them both back into place.

Everyone at Ringers would like to extend prayers and get well wishes to John…we all know he’s one tough cookie!

Onto our Ringers winners…Peggy Llewellyn not only collected the first Wally of her professional Pro Stock Motorcycle racing career, the win over Andrew Hines boosted her up to clinch the final spot in the Countdown to the Championship. Llewellyn defeated Hines on a hole shot, 7.020/190.00 mph to 7.002/191.16 mph.

Dave Connolly…I probably don’t really need to say anything but his name for everyone to know the results. Yep, you got it, Connolly picked up his fourth consecutive Pro Stock win on Sunday. This one came a little easier than the others though. His competitor Greg Anderson broke sitting on the staging lanes and didn’t take the green light. His last three wins have all come over Anderson.

Funny Car action saw the brothers Pedregon facing each other in finals for the first time since they have been teammates, which happened in 2004. Cruz left Tony off the line, but at about 300 feet, the Cruzer struck the tires sending brother Tony on down the track to collect his Wally.

Ringers’ racer Larry Dixon picked up his third win of the season by defeating Bob Vandergriff Jr. Dixon was out of the gate first with a 0.059 reaction time and never looked back at Vandy, winning with a 4.629-second, 310.91 mph run.

The Pro Stock Motorcycle field has been set in the Countdown to One. The following riders will move onto vie for the 2007 POWERade Championship; Andrew Hines, Matt Smith, Chip Ellis and Peggy Llewellyn. The three winners in the remaining categories each moved to the top of the respective fields heading into the final race in the Countdown to Four. Action will pick up for the Pro Stock, Funny Car and Top Fuel fields at the Torco Racing Fuels NHRA Nationals on October 5-7 at Virginia Motorsports Park in Petersburg, Va.

The Ringers supporting teams and racers in the NASCAR Nextel Cup and Craftsman Truck Series’ all had less than stellar weekends. The Truck Series ran at Las Vegas Motor Speedway in the Smith’s Las Vegas 350. Green Light Racing’s Tim Sauter led the field of Ringers supporting teams to the finish line in 20th, while hometown boy Brendan Gaughan was involved in an accident on lap 84 that put him out of the race and handed him a 30th-place finish.

In Nextel Cup, a late race accident took Penske Racing’s Kurt Busch and Ryan Newman both out of the hunt for a win at the Monster Mile. Newman finished 28th, while Busch was right behind him in 29th.

The Craftsman Truck Series has this weekend off and races next weekend at the Talladega Superspeedway on October 6, while the Busch and Cup Series head to Kansas Speedway for their respective races.

After an early exit from contention for the World 100 dirt late model race win at Eldora Speedway two weeks ago, Chub Frank got back to winning form at Bedford Speedway in Pennsylvania in the World of Outlaws Dirt Late Model Series “Bedford 50” on Friday night. Three Ringers racers competed in the “A Feature” at Eldora Speedway in the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series race in the weekend opener of the American Revolution Weekend presented by Chevrolet. They finished in the following order; Sam Hafertepe Jr., 15th, Tony Bruce Jr., 24th and Rob Cheney exiting early finishing 26th.
