THE NEXT SHARK ATTACK IN NASCAR RACING

Do you ever wonder if NASCAR is really done with all the touring type late model stuff?

Are you ever curious if just maybe they might be out in the racing waters circling like sharks, waiting for the right moment to attack? Could it be that the various successful series in the Midwest are chumming the waters with the scent of money?

NASCAR said the reason they dumped the NW, SW, MW and SE “Tours” was they made no money and since NASCAR is all about money…it made sense.

But will NASCAR peacefully ride the tide of change while others profit on what they could have had?

Do you ever wonder about that? Why would they want others to profit on stock car racing and not profit themselves? That is not the M.O. of the NASCAR most of us have come to know.

If you look at what is happening in the “Touring” world of the West, the rules are all opening up. Slowly, but surely, the cars are becoming more uniform.

Who is to say this is not just what NASCAR wants? Let others do the work for them…get those cars the same…where they can race at any of the NASCAR sanctioned tracks right along with their sanctioned late models? Or even better lure over the non-NASCAR cars?

So you say…everyone is too mad at NASCAR for it to work? Isn’t time the healer of all wounds? How many drivers and crew stung by NASCAR closing the Tour, the very same ones that cursed NASCAR and swore never again would they pay a dime to it, how many are out there racing NASCAR sanctioned tracks and paying their license fees or at the least supporting NASCAR by watching Cup on TV?

The Northwest has a reasonable "diving cage" that NASCAR will find challenging, but for the rest of the country? Could be all that NASCAR will need to do is come in with a plan and a promise.

Note: I don't mean to portray NASCAR in a negative light at all...by calling them sharks. Afterall, their West Series and Late Model Weekly Racing is good stuff...but when they are the top of the food chain...you have to call them something....Dove, Gazelle and Puppy Dog aren't at the top of the chain...it had to be Man or Tiger or ...Shark...and they most remind me of a shark. What do they most remind you of?####
