SHINGLE SPRINGS, California – 23 year-old Bill McAnally Racing and Ron Sutton’s Winner’s Circle driver Benny Moon picked up his fourth straight top-five finish in the NASCAR Western Late Models at All American Speedway on Saturday night.

Moon guided his Basalite Concrete Products Chevrolet through the field after a mid-race accident to a solid fourth in the 50 lap feature.

The Roseville, CA one-third mile asphalt oval was a challenge after early morning rain showers limited practice time.

“We missed the tire pressures just slightly,” Moon said. “The car was good again, we just needed to raise the tire pressures for the cold track.”

After qualifying third, Moon thundered through the pack in the feature. Soon, he found himself in a heavy battle for second with Harold Reiker.

Moon and Reiker made contact, with Reiker spinning and Moon being sent to the back by race officials.

The sophomore Late Model driver dug hard and was able to move up to fourth place by the time the checkered flag flew.

The finish also moved Moon to third in the points standings over teammate and Drive for Diversity driver Jessica Helberg.

“Third is good, I’ll take that,” Moon said. “I just wish we would have had some more good finishes this year.”

Moon had six races outside of the top-ten over the course of the season, mainly due to mechanical issues on the car.

With the recent stretch of five top-tens in a row, Moon has been able to build confidence that will be important for his future in stockcars.

“I’ve learned a lot about setups and it’s really good to know that the problems we’re not because of anything I was doing as a driver,” Moon said. “For a while I was doubting my driving ability and I’m glad that’s not the case.”

Moon will wrap up the 2007 season this Saturday night with another 50 lap feature event. Moon is entertaining future rides for 2008.
