James Weston of Goleta took over the lead from Jeff Williams of Newberry on lap 35 to win Saturday night’s West Coast Pro Trucks race Saturday night (Sept. 29) at Irwindale Speedway. Williams second place finish was good enough for him to capture the Division championship. Neil Conrad of Arcadia finished third. Eleven trucks finished on the lead lap. After Williams accepted congratulations, he proposed to his girlfriend Jackie asking for her hand in marriage on the start / finish line.

Legends Cars

Tom Landreth of Alta Loma won his 7th Legends Cars race of the season Saturday night (Sept. 29) at Irwindale Speedway. Chad Schug of Oak Hill finished in second place, 0.509 seconds behind the winner. Darren Amidon’s third place finish was good enough for him to clinch his first Legends Cars division championship. Landreth was the 2006 division champion and finished second overall in the standings. Twenty-six cars competed in the race with 17 cars finishing on the lead lap.

ACDelco Super Late Models

David Beat of Blossom Valley led flag to flag winning Saturday night’s (Sept. 29) ACDelco Super Late Model division race at Irwindale Speedway. The victory was Beat’s second win of the season, winning the first race of the season and the final regular season race. Derek Becker of Highland finished in second place, 0.477 seconds behind the winner. Division champion Rip Michels of San Fernando finished in third place. Rookie Travis Thirkettle of Newhall finished in 5th place, finishing second overall in the standings. Twenty-four cars competed in the race with 17 cars finished on the lead lap.

BG Products Pure Stocks

Mark Whitson of Riverside won Saturday night’s (Sept. 29) BG Products Pure Stock division race at Irwindale Speedway. The victory was Whitson’s second victory in his last three starts. Tom Whitson of Lake Elsinore finished in second place. Jeff Elder of Redlands finished in third place and clinched the division championship.

Auto Club Late Models

Kevin Callahan of Bakersfield held off Tim Huddleston of Agoura Hills during the final laps to capture his first victory in the Auto Club Late Model 40-lap feature division race at Irwindale Speedway. Huddleston finished in second place clinching the division championship, his second in the last three years. Dan DiGiacomo of Dana Point finished in third place. Twenty-eight cars competed in the 40-lap race with 22 cars finishing on the lead lap.
