Dave Reed and Lauri Ickler have been sharing some correspondence on the action down in Mexico...now before your imagination runs wild....well it is Baja 1000 time. And Dave shared with me and asked if I would share with all of you :)

Anyway today is the start of the 2007 Baja 1000. Brian Ickler is driving the #31 Red Bull Trophy Truck with Andy and Scott McMillin. The truck has a satellite tracking device on it which is pretty cool to watch. The race began at 6:30 am this morning with the motorcycles and ATV classes. The first Trophy Truck started 3 hours after the last ATV – at about 11:00 am.

Lauri will be doing live updates thru the night tonight. Andy will start the race - Brian will get in to drive at Race Mile 470 (at aprox 11:00 pm tonight) and drive to RM 918, where Scott will get in to drive to the finish at RM 1,296.

If you go here and wait for the map to load you can see where they are. The truck is R31 and the chase trucks are C1,C2 and C3. Make sure the map is on the Hybrid view, and play with the zoom, you can see the mountain, sandwash, all the good chit!!!

Lauri will be consolidating a lot of info onto Brian’s website with the udates.
