BAKERSFIELD, California – Today, Marion Collins and Les DenHerder, president of HPS Mechanical and owner of Victory Circle Race Cars agreed to present the richest Late Model Stock Car event ever hosted in west coast racing.

The HPS/Victory Circle sponsored race will offer $100,000 in total prize money, with the winner taking home $30,000.

“We have never paid more than $30,000 total purse for a Late Model race, but we wanted to put on a race that elevated our sport and we are doing it with the support of HPS, Victory Circle and Lucas Oil”. Stated Collins.

“We are of course very enthused about the new raceway and this is our way of providing our support for the sport.” Added DenHerder.

The $100,000 Late Model race will be part of the 30th annual Lucas Oil October Classic at the new Bakersfield track currently known as “Kern County’s New Home to NASCAR”. Lucas Oil through their association with the Versus Network will provide national television coverage of the $100,000 Late Model event on its Lucas Oil Motorsports Hour.

The Lucas Oil October Classic will be a multi-day event featuring the NASCAR Late Models, the SRL Southwest Tour Series and the NASCAR Grand National West Series.
