2007 SRL SERIES CHAMPIONSHIP BANQUET HONORS TEAMS

![]() WILTON, California -- On Saturday afternoon, December 8th, the top drivers of the 2007 SRL Late Model Championship Series will be honored at Buck Owens’ Crystal Palace in Bakersfield. Dave Byrd of Seaside, CA will take top honors as the 2007 Series Champion, adding to his already impressive career of twelve track and series titles. Steve Belletto finished a close second in the 2007 championship chase with 316 points to Byrd’s 323. Rookie-of-the-year, Bryan Herzog was third in the 2007 championship standings, followed by; Jeff Belletto, Porter Smith, Mike Mendenhall, Tracy Bolin, Troy Ermish, Greg Voigt and Todd Bammer rounding out the top ten. Jeff Belletto will be honored as the Qualifying Points champion.
In addition to honoring the top teams and drivers of 2007, the SRL Championship Banquet will also serve as an opportunity for the series to make some very significant announcements regarding the upcoming 2008 season. Announcements regarding a new series name and title sponsor, changes in the management of the series and schedule details will be made on December 8th.
“The series will kick off March 28th and 29th with a big event for us at Roseville’s All-American Speedway where we will be competing on the same night as the NASCAR Grand National West Series,” stated series director Steve Fensler. “The new Bakersfield track will play a major role in 2008 including hosting our season finale during their October Classic.” Fensler added. “We have never been more excited about an upcoming season and we can’t wait to share with everyone our important announcements for 2008.” Fensler concluded.
