TUCSON RACEWAY PARK RELEASES 2008 SCHEDULEWhen Dan and Joyce Ruth purchased Tucson Raceway Park back in 2006 one statement was made about changing everything but the crashwall as they felt there was no way to improve upon the crashwall's quality and effectiveness.

At a quick glance just about everything has changed. The complete facility has undergone a facelift with new relocated spotter's stands, remodeled concessions, a new ticket booth and a children's playground. RV parking has been added to both the pits and the spectator areas for terrific viewing of all the race activities. A new P.A. system has been installed and a new expanded hospitality area created in turn one to accommodate groups as large as 400. The VIP suites high above the start/finish line were remodeled along with the creation of a No Smoking section of the main grandstands. The competition rules have proven to work very well with car counts increasing dramatically and we have again chosen NASCAR to sanction our weekly racing series for another year.

The 2008 schedule starts on February 23, 2008 with double points in all classes and the Saturday schedule continues through a Mid Season Championship Event held on July 5th. For the first time in the history of Tucson Raceway Park, competitors and fans will have a summer vacation from July 6th to August 16th to avoid the yearly monsoonal activities and the NASCAR Season Points championship will come to a close on September 13th with double points in all classes.

On September 20th the Southwest Winter Heat Championship Series will begin with the First Annual Bomber and Bomber Lite Enduros with $500.00 to win in both classes continuing with a six race multi class series beginning on September 27th and closing with the 19th Annual Bud Shootout 100 Lapper on November 22nd.

Negotiations are also ongoing to get open wheel racing back on track at TRP in 08 so watch the website for details (www.tucsonracewaypark.com).
