SIMI VALLEY, California - Gearing up for the 2008 season at Irwindale Speedway has kept High Point Racing extremely busy this off season. Shortly after finishing HPR’s final race weekend of 2007, team owner Tim Huddleston headed north to participate in Ron Sutton’s Winner Circle Racing 2008 driver combine. Huddleston would sit on the panel of team owners who evaluated over thirty drivers. Drivers were put through a series of interviews as well as on track testing to determine if they would qualify to be selected as part of one of the associate teams.

High Point Racing is pleased to announce that during that weekend, Tim Huddleston was introduced to a young lady out of Redding, Iowa. Alison Quick, a small town girl with big time potential, caught Huddleston’s attention immediately. Her on the track car control matched with her off-track personality, left Huddleston little to think about.

Now that selection has begun on High Point Racing team drivers, Alison Quick is first to be named a for 2008. She will be running for Rookie of the Year honors as well as a championship. Alison will compete at Irwindale Speedway with plans of running the open competition races at both Las Vegas’ Bullring and the new track in Kern County.

Alison’s experience in Iowa in both a dirt modified and an ASA late model earned her the title of the Ringers Gloves “Rising Star” in the March / April issue of Late Model Racer magazine. She is no stranger to the winner’s circle having won at Adam’s County Speedway in Corning, IA while running her dirt modified under the NASCAR Weekly Racing Series banner. Like many young drivers her age, Alison has been racing go-karts and legend cars in order to develop her skills. She intends to gain valuable experience racing against some of the best short track racers in the country at Irwindale Speedway before pursuing a ride in the newly named Camping World Series.
