The Havasu 95 Speedway, located in beautiful Lake Havasu City-Arizona, will host another huge evening of ASA sanctioned racing this Saturday night featuring the Legends Western Winter Nationals. Also on the schedule this weekend are the JJ&B Late Models, Bandoleros and the Powder Puff Factory Stocks. The most scenic quarter mile asphalt oval in the southwest will also salute local education this Saturday night by presenting School Appreciation Night.

Saturday night will mark the fourth appearance of the Legend Cars at the Havasu 95 Speedway this season. It's also by far their most important appearance. The Legends Western Winter Nationals will feature a 50 lap main event along with a $1,000 winner's check. In fact all drivers are guaranteed at least $100 just for starting the feature race. But there's a lot more than just the prestige and winner's check connected to this event. The Legend Cars can qualify of INEX national points.

The Legends are extremely popular with the fans. First off there's the appearance of the cars. They resemble small scale old time roadsters from the late 1930's and early 1940's. There's also the close quarter side by side racing that comes with the series as well as the game of bumper tag that often occurs while negotiating the turns. The cars are powered by motorcycle engines. That, combined with their extremely light weight, allows them to literally fly around short ovals such as the Havasu 95 Speedway.

Connor Kassik leads the Havasu 95 Speedway's Legends points standings going into Saturday night. A series of top five finishes has allowed him to accumulate 128 points. Derek Frohlich, who has won two features during this winter racing season, holds down second in the standings with 100 points. Broc Murphy, from the well known racing family out of Lancaster-California, is third in the rankings with 92 points.

Also adding a lot of excitement to this Saturday night will be the JJ&B Late Models who will be making their seventh appearance of the season. Fan favorite Bobby Keirns leads the series' standings with 264 points. Mark Schriner, the lone Ford in a field of Chevrolets, has two feature wins so far this season and that has placed him in second in the ranking and only 12 points behind the leader. Still within reach of the points leader are Albert Flores Jr and Kevin James who are third and fourth in the standings with 242 and 232 points respectively.

The youngsters in the small, but very swift, Bandoleros will also see action this Saturday night for the fifth time this season. Like the Legend teams, the Bandoleros also qualify for INEX national points. The series is an excellent, and very affordable, building block for a young driver to launch a career. In fact, the aforementioned Legend drivers Connor Kassik and Broc Murphy cut their racing teeth in this class.

Tyler Fabozzi has been on fire lately in the Bandolero division, with three feature wins in a row, and leads the standings with 194 points. Shelby Orozco holds down second with 172 points. Right behind her are Patrick Camburn, 168, Alex Morgan, 166 and Tom Kelley who has 164 points along with a feature win.

The always fun Powder Puff Factory Stocks will conclude Saturday night's action. While the ladies have their own separate points standings, they have often raced with the guys with a lot of notable success and proved to everyone that racing is not a good ol' boys club.

In the spirit of providing total family fun for the fans, as well as supporting the community they live in, the Havasu 95 Speedway has dedicated Saturday night as School Appreciation Night and encourages everyone to support their local schools. The speedway's midway area will be transformed into a carnival area complete with a principal and teacher dunk tank which is likely to generate a lot of interest from students.

The gates will open at 4 pm Saturday afternoon with the racing getting underway at 6 pm. Tickets are only $12 general admission, $10 for seniors 55 plus, the handicapped and military members. Children's prices are $6 for ages six to 16 while kids five and under are admitted free when accompanied by an adult. For complete details dial up their website at www. havasu95speedway. com.####
