DIRT RACER LINDSAY BARTON JOINS BILL MCANALLY RACING
NASCAR LATE MODEL
Date: 02/28/2008
Barton will pilot the #32 Barton Auto Sales car. She will team with freshman year crew chief Bill Shaul who worked with driver Jessica Helberg on the #20 team last season with BMR. Barton began racing go karts at the age of nine at Greenwood Speedway in Greenwood, Pennsylvania. After those first couple of races, everyone was skeptical if this youngster could make a driver. However, the next season proved that she could. She won her first feature at Path Valley Speedway in Spring Run, PA in the middle of that season and never looked back. In 1999, she began running in the World Karting Association (WKA) Dirt National Series. She went on to win championships in the Pennsylvania Dirt Karter’s Association (PDKA) Junior Champion Division, the WKA Pavement National Junior Heavy Division, the Virginia Dirt Karting Association (VDKA) Junior Champ Division and the both the Chapel Hill Raceway’s Junior Champ Lite and Heavy Divisions. She then moved on to racing Dirt Late Models in 2006. Later that year she was invited into the Lyn St. James Driver Development Program. In 2007, she caught the eye of Ron Sutton and with a great performance in the Ron Sutton’s Winner’s Circle Shootout, she was invited to be a part of his driver development program opening the way for her to race with Bill McAnally Racing in Antelope, California. “I am extremely grateful and excited to be working with Bill McAnally and his team for the upcoming 2008 season,” said Barton. “It is such an amazing opportunity to be working with all of them and I feel lucky to have been introduced to them through being associated with Ron Sutton's Winners Circle. All of the tools and resources needed have been given to me through BMR and the RSWC. I plan on applying them to the best of my ability to get some solid finishes for the team this year.” The first race of the season will be on Saturday April 5th at All American Speedway. This is the first of twenty NASCAR All American Late Model Series races at AAS. Drivers will compete not only for the track championship title but for the NASCAR All American Late Model Series National Championship title.
