PERRIS AUTO SPEEDWAY PEOPLE’S CHAMPION SPRINT CAR FUND
PERRIS AUTO SPEEDWAY
Date: 03/21/2008
PERRIS, California Perris Auto Speedway promoter Don Kazarian announced a brand 2008 People’s Champion Sprint Car Fund. Kazarian and Jim Cardey, father of USAC/CRA star “Dynamite David” Cardey, kicked off the new program by throwing $500.00 each into the pot. When Temecula Valley Pipe & Supply presents the USAC/CRA Series at the famous Riverside County clay oval on March 29th, drivers will begin accumulating points in the 2008 Perris Auto Speedway Sprint Car Championship Series. . Drivers will be racing for points over the final 20 races of 2008 in both the A and B mains (point charts listed below). At year’s end, the top 15 teams at The PAS will be paid from the point fund. 100% of all money raised goes to the teams. This point fund is totally separate from the USAC/CRA Series point fund. “This program really got kicked off with a phone call from Jim Cardey on Wednesday afternoon,” Kazarian said. “This comes from the fans voicing their desire to help support the teams that provide the best Sprint Car action in the Nation. In these tough economic times we all need to work together in an effort to help differ the rising costs of Auto Racing. On our original 2008 schedule, The PAS had a 12 race series planned (PAS point fund for the drivers), but was not able to find a sponsor to fund the series. Jim's approach was a fresh idea and with everyone's effort there is no telling how much money can be raised over the season long campaign. It will be exciting for the teams and exciting for the fans as well. 100% of the money raised will go to the teams after the inaugural Glen Howard Memorial on November 29.” Fans may contribute any amount they wish and they can do so by calling The PAS office (951 940-0134) or they can contribute at the souvenir stand at every race. Anyone wishing more information could contact Perris Auto Speedway at (951) 940-0134. Perris Auto Speedway is located on the Lake Perris Fairgrounds, home of the Southern California Fair.
