VENTURA, California – Basically, this Saturday at Ventura Raceway, it's about the money.

The track hosts its first major event of the season March 29 in the form of the first round of the three-race All Coast Construction 3-2-1 Challenge for the track’s Sprint Car class. The special series-within-a-season adds extra dollars to the purse. An independent points system will determine a champion of the special program.

The first two events in the series will pay $2,000 to the winner. The final installment in the series will pay $3,000 to the winner, $2,000 to the runner-up and $1,000 to third place. The top point-getter in the special series will win an additional $1,000.

Also on the card Saturday will be the VRA Senior Sprints, the IMCA Modifieds, United States Auto Club Junior Focus Midgets and the California Lightning Sprints. Racing begins at 5:30 p.m.
