ASA NORTHWEST TOUR 2008 SEASON SET TO START
ASA NORTHWEST TOUR

The Speedway Chevrolet Presents 100.7 The Wolf 125 will kick off the 2nd season for the ASANWT. It will be race #1 of a 10-race schedule in 2008. The schedule will take the traveling series into 3 western states including Washington, Oregon and Idaho. The season will conclude on Saturday September 20th at Evergreen Speedway.
Included in the Speedway’s opening night activities will be the KISW 99.9 Winged Sprint Car ‘Doug James Memorial’ for the ASA/NSRA opened wheeled speedsters.
The original Northwest Tour got its start in 1985 at Evergreen Speedway. Evergreen hosted the most races in the 22-years of the series. In 2007 ASA (American Speed Association) became the sanctioning body.
The Northwest will be well represented by the best late model stock car racers with three states and two countries represented. Oregon, Idaho, Washington and Canadian drivers will be tested by the Northwest’s largest super oval.
There will some returning NWT veterans such as 3-time NWT champion Ron Eaton, 2-Time Champions Kelly Tanner and Gary Lewis. Former NWT Champions expected will be Pete Harding, John Dillon and BJ Tidrick.
Returning to the ASANWT are Joe Constance, Joey Decker, Jason Fraser, Erick Hargraves and Aaron Young.
Other notables that are expected: Kelly Mann, Shane Harding (2-time Evergreen Speedway Super Stock Champion) and Harold Raczynski.
Running for the 2008 Rookie title: Tony Berry (2007 Inland Northwest Sprint Car Champion), Shelby Thompson, Ken Sleveland, Darin Stordahl, Kendall Thomas and Willy Thom.
First time ASANWT drivers expected: James Mugge, Doug Davidson and Alan Jewett,
There has been only one woman competitor in the previous 24-years of the NWT until now with Jill Lang making her debut as an ASANWT Driver. She will join LeAnn Tanner as the only women to have been a part of the much storied history of this great series.
The only pre-season open practice session on the .667-mile oval is on Friday March 28 from 5:00pm to 9:00pm.
