TOYOTA SPEEDWAY AT IRWINDALE - RACE RESULTS

Vista Paint Super Stocks

Greg Crutcher of Covina won the season opening Vista Paint Super Stocks division race at TOYOTA Speedway at Irwindale on March 29. Crutcher assumed the race lead on lap 31 as a result of an incident between Garrett Cromsigt of Saugus who was the race leader at the time with Bryan Harrell of Riverside in second place. Both drivers were sent to the back of the field on the re-start. Ken Brown of Cherry Valley finished second, only 0.3376 second behind the winner and Larry Cerquettini of Redlands finished in third place. Harrell battled back and finished 7th while Cromsigt finished in 13th place. Seventeen cars competed in the 35-lap race.

Pure Stocks

Michelle Rouse of San Bernardino won the season opening Pure Stocks division 30-lap race on March 29 at TOYOTA Speedway at Irwindale. Tommy Agosta of Chino finished second, 0.743 seconds behind the winner while Ron Davis of Norwalk finished in third place.

West Coast Pro Trucks

Ricky James of Murrieta won the West Coast ProTrucks 30 lap feature race on March 29 at TOYOTA Speedway at Irwindale. James, a paraplegic who was injured in 2005 while racing in an Amateur Motocross National event, posted an impressive 4.318 second margin of victory over second place Ronnie Davis, Jr. of Whittier. Kyle Longmore of Camarillo finished in third place.

K&N Ford Focus Midgets

Brendon Langlois of Kamloops, B.C. won the USAC K&N Filters Ford Focus Midget 30-lap race at TOYOTA Speedway at Irwindale on March 29. Alex Bowman of Goodyear, AZ finished second, 1.031 seconds behind the winner. Series points leader Ian Miille of Pleasanton finished third. Sixteen cars competed in the race. The K&N Ford Focus Midget series is a five-race ‘house’ series of TOYOTA Speedway and is part of the USAC Ford Focus Midget California Pavement Series.

Auto Club Late Models

Andrew Myers of Newport Beach and Nick Joanides of Woodland Hills waged a side-by-side battle in the final laps of the NASCAR Auto Club Late Model Division 40-lap feature race at TOYOTA Speedway at Irwindale with Myers holding on for the victory. Myers and Joanides touched on the final lap coming out of turn four with Myers edging Joanides at the finish line by a 0.049 second margin for his second consecutive victory of the season. Lindsey King of Cherry Valley had her best ever Late Model race, finishing in third place. Mike Johnson of Covina finished in fourth place and defending division champion Tim Huddleston finished in fifth. Twenty-eight cars competed in the race.

Pure Stock Figure 8

Chad Kelly of Calabasas won the Pure Stock Figure 8 race at TOYOTA Speedway at Irwindale. Rick Crow of Moorpark finished second and Tommy Agosta of Chino finished third in the nine-car 15 lap competition.
