HOUSTON, Texas – Antron Brown reached a drag racing milestone while winning the Top Fuel final of the O’Reilly NHRA Spring Nationals at Houston Raceway Park.

Brown was one of four drivers who raced to victory on Goodyear Eagles at the event. The others included Randy Eakins (in Top Alcohol Dragster), Del Worsham (Funny Car) and Greg Anderson (Pro Stock). Goodyear continues to lead the tire industry in NHRA national victories this season.

Brown became the first to record victories in both Pro Stock Motorcycle and Top Fuel. He beat Larry Dixon in the final round. Dixon used the final round appearance to close to within eight points of Tony Schumacher in the POWERade Drag Racing Series Top Fuel standings.

Eakins defeated Duane Shields in an all-Goodyear final round. Eakins’ elapsed time of 5.392 seconds and his speed of 263.67 mph made his final round effort the best of his career.

Worsham grabbed his first win since 2005, beating crowd favorite Ashley Force in the final round. Cruz Pedregon leads the Funny Car standings.

Anderson beat Kurt Johnson in the final. It was Anderson’s second win of the season and the effort was helped along by a terrific reaction time at the starting line, .018 of a second. Anderson leads the Pro Stock points but Jeg Coughlin is only three points behind.
