The open-wheel thunder of the Modifieds will follow, with their 50 lap event taking place on the half-mile oval. After introductions are complete for the Late Models, a field of 36 beautifully prepared cars will thunder to the green flag for their 125 lap feature. The featured race of the weekend, the event will count for NASCAR state points and pay out over $20,000 as part of overall weekend purse of $42,000. A pit area will be set up on Altamont’s quarter-mile, which will allow fans a great view as teams pit for repairs and changes to their vehicles. On lap 100, the Late Models will be brought down pit road for a splash of fuel, and racing will resume. A 25 lap shootout will ensue, with the winner taking home $3000 and bragging rights as the “Tribute to American Graffiti” winner. The day’s events will conclude with a “Second Chance” Enduro, for teams not in the top-six in Saturday’s race.
