BOISE, Idaho -- Officials for the CarbonX Rocky Mountain Challenge Series and A-1 Heating and Air Conditioning announced this past week a sponsorship deal for the 2008 series Rookie-of-the-Year. The rookie program will be known as the A-1 Rookie-of-the-Year Award and will pay the top finishing rookie at each RMCS event this season a $100 bonus. A-1 will also provide a $1000 bonus at the season ending awards banquet to A-1 Rookie-of-the-Year.

"We are very excited to have A-1 back with again this year," said Mike Minegar, president of the CarbonX Rocky Mountain Challenge Series. "We continue to have more and more new drivers join the series and to be able to reward and recognize our rookie drivers goes a long way in ensuring our future.”

Pat Minegar, owner of A-1 Heating and Air Conditioning, has been associated with the series since its inception five years ago and continues to be a strong supporter of all drivers. Pat Minegar also owns the 2006 championship team driven by his nephew Dave Minegar.

“I flat out love racing and this series,” said Pat Minegar. “We have so much fun not only with our team but with all the guys in the pits. It is important that we are involved and the rookie program is a great way to reward and get the next generation of drivers involved in our series.”

In each of the past four seasons there have been at least five registered rookies involved in the series so the competition this season for the A-1 Rookie-of-the-Year title is sure to be another exciting rookie battle. Last year’s ROTY, Matt Faulkner has moved to North Carolina. He is the team engineer for a Nascar Craftsman Truck Team. RG Motorsports #71 with ROY candidate Donny Lia at the helm.
