WARN'S HOPES DASHED WITH LATE RACE TANGLE

AVONDALE, Arizona Jim Warn from Aurora, OR. driving his MJ2 Racing/Gran Prix Imports Chevrolet for the first time at Phoenix Int'l Raceway in NASCAR Camping World Series competition had hoped for better. Luck was not on his side as the 26 year Sunoco rookie competitor found that even though your car is good, it is very easy to be caught up in someone else's mess.

Warn qualified a respectable 17th in the 38-car field for the Jimmie Johnson Foundation "150" in round two of the 13-race NCWS series schedule. The starting position would mean that Warn would have to use patience and caution to navigate the field to avoid trouble.

Over the first 100 laps, Warn followed the plan to the letter pitting around lap 80 for tires and fuel setting his team up in the 12th position for the final half of the race. By lap 100, Warn was holding steady in the 11th spot. All seemed to be going as planned when the field was bunched up after a restart and the #70 of Greg Pursley looped his mount in the center of turn one sending his car backward up the track collecting Warn who was trapped with know where to go.

Before Warn could bring his ride to a halt, the #5 of Eric Hardin drove over the right rear of the MJ2 Racing Chevrolet ending Warn's Phoenix debut on the hook. Warn finished a disappointing 25th after so much promise early in the race.

"I am disappointed about the outcome," Warn said. "We had a good car and we were doing exactly what we needed to do to have a solid finish. I saw Pursley get sideways and moved to the top but before you know it I was caught up in it."

"Though this was not the finish we had hoped for I learned a lot and gained a lot of confidence. I am looking forward to next week so we can get ourselves back on track."

Warn and his MJ2 Racing team will head to Kyle, TX., located south of Austin, for the third race in as many weeks to open the 2008 campaign.####
