ASA NORTHWEST SPRINT CAR SERIES 2008 CHAMPIONSHIP RACE APRIL 26TH

EVERETT, Washington -- The American Speed Association/Northwest Sprintcar Racing Association (ASA/NSRA) starts their 2008 championship season, the second of the thirteen race schedule, at Douglas County Speedway in Roseburg, OR with the running of Don Hein Memorial presented by SHEDS R US, Saturday April 26th. The opening race scheduled March 29th at Evergreen Speedway in Monroe, WA was rained out making this race the first chance for the winged sprint cars to race for the win and the points championship. Having 20 or more winged sprint cars battling for positions provides for unparalleled excitement on the half mile paved oval !

The Douglas County Speedway is currently a half mile paved race track. A recently completed renovation to the Roseburg facility included expanding from a third mile and widening of the track, as well as a complete resurfacing that increased the banking in the turns from nine to 11 degrees.

Expected at Douglas County Speedway are returning 2007 champion Andy Alberdine in the #76 car, Jeff Montgomery 2006 champion in the # 33J car, Jake Mann in the # 51 car, Robert Beck in the # 3 car, Jeff Bird from Canada in the # 55 car, Kevin Burck in the # 65 car, Todd Coleman in the # 44 car, Larry Davies in the # 46 car, R.J. Fronsman returning to the series in the Zema Racing # 25 car, Justin Mack in the # 17 car, and Greg Middendorf in the # 4 car.

ASA/NSRA is the most exciting opened wheel racing on the west coast and by far the fastest. NSRA drivers currently hold 20 all time track records at venues throughout the region. These are open wheeled, winged sprint cars running on paved ovals utilizing 750 horsepower alcohol-burning engines running on tracks that vary in length from quarter mile to five-eights mile facilities.####
