FOUR BANGER SPRING NATIONALS/ENDURO LEADOFF BUSY MAY AT MADERA SPEEDWAY
MADERA SPEEDWAY
Date: 05/01/2008
This program will not only provide an evening’s worth of fun to those in attendance, but also a chance for those so inclined to strap on a helmet and challenge the “Fastest 1/3 Mile in the West” themselves in a real competitive event!
The Four Bangers will race in a 125-lap feature for a winning purse (based on a field of 30+ cars) of $1,000! This event is open to anyone wishing to enter and no racing experience is necessary. If you have a street car with the windows knocked out and a roll bar installed you are ready to compete.
If you don’t have a spare car sitting in the garage or in the yard and you still want to test your racing mettle, then the Spectator Racing Program is for you. This event is also open to all fans wishing to compete and in this division Madera Speedway will provide all the equipment you need including a helmet, fire suit, neck brace and best of all the car!
Full participation in a Saturday night Spectator Racing Series event - including practice, qualifying and a 15-lap race – is only $299.95. Fans also have the opportunity to hit the track in one of the special Sunday afternoon sessions scheduled throughout the 2008 season for only $49.95. Group, private events and a special Six Race Championship Series rate is also available.
Following the Spectator Racing Series events the track will then be soaked down, soaped up and messed around for Round #1 of the season’s three event Enduro Series. The Enduro is open to 4-6-8 cylinder vehicles.
The Enduro combines the thrills, chills and spills of an endurance race with the whacks, smacks and jacks of a destruction derby. Fans can expect witness just about anything and everything that can happen on a race track by the time the checkered flag waves to complete the 200-lap Enduro event.
Ticket prices for the Saturday, May 3 show are only $15.00 for adults, $13.00 for seniors 65 years of age or older, $10.00 for students, active duty military and juniors age 13-17, $5.00 for kids age 6-12 while kids 5 and under are free when accompanied by a paying adult. A family pack ticket (two adults and up to two kids 12 years old and under) is also available for the bargain price of just $35.00. VISA and MasterCard are welcome at window #3.
Registration will begin at 11:00 AM, the Madera Speedway pit gates will open at noon, the grandstands open at 3:00 PM and the evening’s opening ceremonies will kick off the start of racing at approximately 4:00 PM.
The action will get a bit more serious the following Saturday, May 10, with the second of six BIG Super Saturday Events on the 2008 schedule – the Vukovich Classic. This very special program, presented by Madera Auto Center, will include both the powerful 410 and 360 Modifieds, Bay Area Racing Association (BCRA) Midgets, Legends of the Pacific, a Spectator Racing Series event plus the NASCAR Whelen All American Racing Series Western Late Models in a 50-lap main event with a $1,000 purse to the winner and the American Limited Stock Cars.
Race fans will be pleased to hear that sponsorship from the Madera Auto Center has allowed the Madera Speedway to drop the ticket prices for all Super Saturday race events by $5.00 per ticket. This excludes the child’s ticket already priced at $5.00.
The Super Saturday programs feature THREE main events on one night verses the traditional single main event. The first Super Saturday held on April 5 drew fans from eight western states, and filled up the area motels and restaurants. The feedback from the fans was extremely positive as they enjoyed the opportunity to watch the exciting Super Modifieds, BCRA Midgets and NASCAR Western Late Models during one visit to the speedway.
"We are very excited to have a sponsor like the Madera Auto Center assist in lowering the cost of a ticket to our fans, especially on the Super Saturday nights, which are designed to give the fans the best in racing action one night per month,” remarked Short Track Management President Kenny Shepherd. “Though the ticket price reduction will be appreciated by every fan, I hoping it will help the local fan that supports all of our events. We designed the Super Saturday events at the request of the fans for a high horsepower, high energy night of big time racing, modeled after the old Copper World Classic at Phoenix International Raceway."
It is only the beginning of May, but the action, fun and excitement are already in full throttle at the Madera Speedway.
