IT'S A NIGHT OF DESTRUCTION AT THE HAVASU 95 SPEEDWAYHAVASU 95 SPEEDWAY

![]() The Havasu 95 Speedway, an ASA sanctioned quarter mile paved oval in Lake Havasu City-Arizona, will officially bring to a close a highly successful 2007-2008 winter racing series this Saturday night, May 17th, by presenting a Night Of Destruction. No, this doesn't mean they're going to blow up the race track. But it does mean they will be putting some major stress levels on some finely tuned machinery when they present action from the AMP Monster Truck Thunder Slam. The evening also includes an all American demolition derby and the final resolution of the ASA Factory Stock division points championship. This special season finale is being presented by Anderson Dodge, Chrysler, Jeep and Toyota, Walt's Motor Sports and Marine and the U.S. Border Patrol. The AMP Monster Truck Thunder Slam, as seen often on national television, features some of the most exotic, and powerful, monster trucks in the nation who achieve some serious air time as they careen off of dirt ramps and sometimes parked cars. Their maneuverability is quite amazing considering the size of these vehicles with their extraordinary large tires. Dennis Rudin, Havasu 95 Speedway co-promoter, is excited about these monster trucks coming to his speedway and said "this is a very special show that draws a different kind of crowd.than our normal stock car racing fans. Last year when we did this we had a huge crowd. I looked out over the crowd to see if I could recognize anyone I knew and I could hardly find them. There's some very famous monster trucks coming here that night such as "Nasty Boy"and "Unnamed Untamed" among many others that you see on TV."
Another big crowd pleaser is the all American metal rodeo also known as a demolition derby. For fans who love coming to race tracks to watch cars crash into each other this is the event for you. This smash and dash for cash is a simple case of a driver hitting an opponent's car extremely hard to the point it cannot roll its wheels anymore. The last driver who can keep his car rolling is going to take home $800. Demolition derbies usually don't pay that much money to the winner so the Havasu 95 Speedway event is expected to generate a large car count filled with aggressive drivers wanting to take that cash home.
Speaking of cars running into each other. The ASA Factory Stocks will be concluding their regular season this Saturday night and will crown a points champion. Dave Buntmeyer will be starting the night with a 32 point lead over Mike Harris. But always remember that this is factory stock racing and the way they often spin out in front of each other and run into each other could change this points battle during the course of one single lap. Also in action Saturday night will be the Factory Stock Ladies who have often proven that they can drive just as hard as the boys on any given night.
