Military Personnel get in for half price. Fans will simultaneously watch from their grandstand seats SPEED TV’s live coverage of the NASCAR Sprint Showdown and All-Star races on the giant vision screen while NASCAR racing takes place on the track.

IRWINDALE, Calif. (May 14, 2008) – NASCAR fans along with military personnel and their families will be able to experience the ultimate viewing party at TOYOTA Speedway at Irwindale this Saturday (May 17) during Toyota Dealers Armed Forces Appreciation Night and the Lucas Oil NASCAR Ultimate Viewing Party.

Fans attending the event will be able to watch SPEED TV’s live coverage of NASCAR’s Sprint Showdown and All-Star races from Lowe’s Motor Speedway on a 20 X 27 foot vision screen, courtesy of Lucas Oil Products. The screen will be positioned in the infield of the 1/2-mile oval, directly across from the main grandstand, providing spectators with an unobstructed view of the broadcast while the Speedway conducts its NASCAR Whelen All-American weekly short track racing action on the track.

All active, reservist and retired military personnel and their families attending the event will be admitted for half price as part of Armed Forces Day which is recognized by the United States and several other nations to recognize, venerate and honor their respective military forces. In addition to sponsoring the Armed Forces Appreciation Night, the Southern California Toyota Dealers Association will host 100 United States Marines from the Camp Pendleton, Calif. Marine Corp Base.

Racing action on the track will include the ACDelco Super Late Models, King Taco Super Trucks, Legends Cars, D&D Construction Specialties Bandoleros and the Pick Your Part Outlaw Figure 8s.

Spectator gates will open at 4 p.m. allowing fans to watch on track qualifying and SPEED TV’s flag-to-flag coverage of the Sprint Showdown which begins at 4 p.m. PDT followed by the Sprint All-Star race. The King Taco autograph session with drivers, teams and race cars on the race track will begin at 5:45 p.m. Racing begins at 7 p.m.

Auto Club of Southern California members receive a 10% discount off of the purchase of up to four (4) adult general admission tickets for Saturday oval track races when they show their AAA membership card.
