BATTLE OF THE BULLRING SATURDAY NIGHT AT LAS VEGAS MOTOR SPEEDWAY FEATURES SUPERCLEAN MODIFIED SERIES, WEST COAST PRO TRUCKS, ON-TRACK DRIVER AUTOGRAP

Saturday’s PolyDome 75 is the third event on the 2008 SuperClean Modified Series schedule and marks the first time the prestigious open-wheel series will visit the bullring. The race will start 24 cars and pays points toward the $25,000 year-end awards fund. The 14-race series also travels to tracks in Calif. (Blythe and San Bernardino) and Ariz. (Tucson and Lake Havasu City).

Current points leader Jimmy Dickerson of El Cajon, Calif., has won the first two events and is setting his sights on three-in-a-row at the Bullring.

“That (three-in-a-row) would be nice,” said Dickerson, who finished third in SuperClean Series points last year. “We’ve got a better car now and I think we have a pretty good shot at it.”

Saturday also marks the first visit to the Bullring for the West Coast Pro Truck Series. The series, which features fiberglass Ford F-150, Chevrolet Silverado, Toyota Tundra and Dodge Ram replicas, competes in Nev., Calif. and Ariz. The trucks are powered by V-8 engines with automatic transmissions. Ricky James of Murrieta, Calif., is the current points leader.

Spectator gates will open at 5 p.m. The Bullring’s concession stand offers a family-friendly dollar menu, featuring $1 hot dogs, $1 soda and $1 beer. Nevada State Law prohibits smoking in the grandstands.

Battle of the Bullring schedule:

10 a.m. – Pit gates open.

1 p.m. – Practice for West Coast Pro Trucks, SuperClean Modifieds (20 minutes per session, 2 sessions per class).

3 p.m. – Practice for Bandolero, Thunder Roadsters, Legends Cars and Bombers.

4:30 p.m. – Practice concludes.

4:40 p.m. – Drivers’ meeting.

5 p.m. – Spectator gates open.

Mini-Stock group qualifying (4 cars per group / 4 laps).

West Coast Pro Truck qualifying (4 cars per group / 4 laps).

SuperClean Modified Series qualifying (4 cars per group / 4 laps).

Legends Cars qualifying (8 cars per group / 4 laps per group).

Bandolero Bandits heat race (6 laps).

Bandolero Young Guns heat race (6 laps).

Thunder Roadster heat race (8 laps).

Bomber heat race (8 laps).

6:10-6:45 p.m. – On-track autograph session, pre-race pit party featuring California rock band Mama Hagglin (stage in infield).

6:50 p.m. – Bandolero Bandits feature (12 laps or 12 minutes).

7:05 p.m. – National Anthem, followed by:

Budweiser Legends Cars Dash (8 laps).

Budweiser West Coast Pro Trucks Dash (optional).

Budweiser SuperClean Modified Series Dash (8 laps).

Thunder Roadster feature (20 laps or 15 minutes).

Bandolero Young Guns feature (12 laps or 12 minutes).

Bomber feature (25 laps, no cautions).

Legends Pro/Master feature (20 laps or 15 minutes).
