PARTS FAILURE KEEPS RYAN REED FROM ANOTHER STRONG RUN

Over the past 4 weeks Ryan had been on quite a ride racking 3 straight podium finish with a 1st, 3rd & 2nd at the Toyota Speedway at Irwindale. Ryan Reed Racing was headed into this past weekend hoping to use this momentum to put up another great finish and move closer in the overall championship.

Hot…was definitely the word of the day with temperatures of 100+ it was hard on the drivers and the crews. After the final practice Ryan was 4th on the speed chart and looked like he was headed for another a great night!! “The track just had no grip because of the heat and I kept over driving the car and that really hurt us in qualifying” – Ryan.

Ryan qualified 13th and knew he would have to be on his A game to drive up through the field. As the cars entered the track for the main event, the top link bolt broke on the rear end causing a pit stop for repairs. Ryan made it back out 8 laps down at the tail end of the 20 car field and drove one of his best races passing almost a dozen cars!! “Theses are the nights that show what you and your team are made of making the best of the situation and everyone did a great job” – Mark Reed. The final results, a 17th place finish dropping Ryan from 2nd to 4th in the championship with 10 races remaining.

This past weekend also marked Ryan’s debut at the Bullring in Las Vegas with a very short Friday night format of 2 five minute practices and a 20 lap main. Ryan got knocked around a little but managed a very respectable 8th place finish. This weekend we are off to the races again with a 2 day show at the Orange Show Speedway in San Bernardino, CA.
