WARN RESUMES ROOKIE BATTLE AT CNS

For Jim Warn, driver of the MJ2 Racing Chevrolet on the NASCAR Camping World Series, his rookie campaign on the NASCAR Camping World Series has had its ups and downs. This weekend Warn is hoping for a Rocky Mountain high as the he visits the 3/8-mile paved oval of Colorado National Speedway located north of Denver for the first time.

“It seems as a rookie every track is a test,” Warn said. “We tested really well and I look forward to actually racing this weekend. Everyone tells me this is a fun track to race and I am excited to experience it firsthand.”

Warn currently finds himself 15th in the point standings after four races this season and third in the rookie standings. “Even though we have not had the finishes we would have liked so far this season I am having a blast. We are learning a lot every week and are very much in the rookie chase.”

Warn knows that finishing races is his priority and CNS will be another rookie test. “This is a short track series and we need to perform well Saturday night,” Warn said. “We need to come out of Colorado with a top ten finish and that will go a long way towards our season. I know all the other guys are thinking the same thing so it is going to be an interesting race.”

Through four races this season, Warn has finishes of 8th, 25th, and 12th, and 15th and has completed 604 of 653 laps contested. Finishing all the laps at Colorado is only one of his goals. “Of course finishing and finishing well is on our minds but to really know where we are at as a team I need to run up front and compete against the point leaders.”

Warn drives a team car to Jeff Jefferson and is sponsored by MJ2 Racing, Gran Prix Imports, and Leupold Optic. The car is powered by a Chevrolet NASCAR Spec Engine and sits atop a Hopkins chassis. Warn is in his rookie campaign on the NCWS and has four career starts with one top ten finish. Warn currently third in the Sunoco Rookie-of-the-Year standings just three point’s back.

The NAPA/Toyota “150” at Colorado National Speedway is round five of the 13-race NASCAR Camping World Series-West schedule for 2008. The race will be televised live on HDNet with the green flag slated for 7:40 pm (MT) and set for an enhanced reply on SPEED Channel June 24 at 1:00 pm (ET). 2008 is the 55th year of competition for the NASCAR Camping World Series-West.####
