OSS INVITES FANS TO ‘CELEBRATE COMMUNITY’ WITH FREE ADMISSION DURING FATHER’S DAY FIESTASAN BERNARDINO – Many of the racecar drivers, owners and team members hail from all over Southern California. Yet the largest percentage are from the communities adjacent to the historic ¼ mile high-bank oval. In an effort to introduce the communities to the great sport of auto racing, Orange Show Speedway is going to partner with the region and welcome new, and old fans…one city at a time. Director of Motorsports Joe Ganino announced today that this Saturday, June 14th, 2008 will begin Orange Show Speedway’s ‘Celebrate Community’ campaign. Starting with the city of Highland, each resident who provides proof of residency, with picture ID, will receive one free admission to the evening’s race night. Each week, a different city will be selected to participate. Throughout the evening, fun city facts and interaction from community members of the host city will be encourages each week. Joe Ganino speaks on all the new faces he’s seen in the stands in 2008;

“Recent population numbers puts the region at nearly 2 million residents. So many have never been to the track. Our goal is to introduce communities to the racers who in many cases have children attending school together, live in the same neighborhood, etc., and never even knew it. It gives them an immediate personal tie to the action, and that always makes it more fun.”

The honorable mayor of Highland, Penny Lilburn was excited that Highland was chosen to serve as the first city; “Whether it be on the National Circuit or here locally at Orange Show Speedway, our great city has always been associated with racing and the drivers who have called Highland home. We honored and excited about kicking off the speedway’s continued support of the communities surrounding it.”

Orange Show Speedway has been leading the way in creating and providing fun, affordable family entertainment in the region during tough economical times. This becomes another way of allowing people in the community to be able to get out of the house, stay close to home, bring in coolers, let the kids enjoy complimentary bounce houses and sit back to an exciting evening of great racing. The ‘Celebrate Community’ program will be coordinated amongst fourteen of the remaining races at OSS in 2008:

June 14: Highland September 6: Corona

June 21: San Bernardino September 13: Loma Linda

July 12: Rialto September 27: Redlands

July 26: Riverside October 11: Colton

August 2: Yucaipa/Calimesa October 18: Bloomington

August 9: Fontana October 25: Moreno Valley

August 23:Mountain Communities November 1: Grand Terrace

Saturday Night also marks the first of two nights sponsored by Del Taco. Amongst the activities this coming Saturday, the first 500 Dads thru the gates will receive complimentary Del Taco Cooler Bottles and coupons for complimentary combo burrito.

“Del Taco has been a staple in communities throughout Southern California. They have been so awesome to interact with and the fans and drivers flock to the restaurant throughout the race day and evening. We are honored to have them as partners and appreciate their support of local racing and the communities they reside in.” said Greg Cozzo, Director of Broadcasting and Promotions

Founders Ed Hackbarth and David Jameson opened the first Del Taco in Yermo, CA in 1961. And today, Del Taco founder Ed can still be seen greeting guests in one of his three Barstow restaurants. In 1967, Del Taco introduced their famous bean and cheese burrito with green or red sauce to the menu. The green sauce recipe is the same today as it was in 1967. In November 2007, Del Taco will celebrate the opening of their 500th location marking a new milestone in the company’s growth, making Del Taco the second largest Mexican Quick Serve Restaurant (QSR), that started just 46 years ago in a small Southern Californian desert town.
