BRIAN CAMPBELL AWAITS THE ASALMS CHALLENGE DIVISION IN HIS BACKYARD; BERLIN RACEWAY!

WYOMING, Michigan -- Brian Campbell has turned more laps at Berlin Raceway then most of the entire field combined that are entered in the 2nd annual Tradition 200!

Excluding his Father, Fred Campbell, (who's also entered), there isn't a driver entered in the third race of the 2008 racing season in the ASA Late Model Series Challenge Division that knows the uniquely shaped 7/16s mile progressively banked paved oval in Marne, Michigan better than the Wyoming, Michigan driver.

The 29-year-old, who was the 2005 ASALMS Challenge Divisions Pat Bourdow Memorial Rookie of the Year, hopes his first appearance of 2008 at his home track will result in a Feature Win as he awaits "America's Premiere Short Track Series" this Friday and Saturday, June 13-14, 2008 in the running of the 2nd annual Tradition 200.

Hot off a pair of third place finishes, one in ASALMS Challenge Division action at Iowa Speedway in the Pride of Iowa 150 back on May 17, 2008 and again in an ASALMS Northern Division race at Toledo Speedway on June 1, 2008 in the Glass Breaker 125, Campbell comes into the Berlin race Fifth in the season long ASALMS Challenge Division Points Standings.

"I'm looking forward to coming home we haven't been here all year and we're excited about the home field fans!" Relayed Campbell as he prepares for a homecoming at the historic Marne, Michigan speed plant. "We plan on redeeming ourselves a little bit after last years showing!" He added.

With four laps to go in last years inaugural Tradition 200, Campbell and fellow Berlin regular, Chris Anthony collided heading into Turn Three sending Campbell hard into the Turn Three wall and done for the evening! Anthony was sent to the rear of the field and this set up a Four-Lap Dash between crafty veterans; Robbie Pyle and Brian's Father, Fred Campbell.

Pyle held off Fred Campbell too win the 1st annual Tradition 200 and the younger Campbell still cringes at the thought of what might have been in last years race and the thought of racing his Dad for the win!

"We had a great car last year and were just biding our time getting ready to go after it there toward the end with Robbie and Dad." Campbell continued. "Sometimes stuff like that happens though. We're ready this time around and I expect a much better result this weekend!" He ended.

His Father, the legendary, Fred Campbell is a 10-time Berlin Late Model Track Champion and a member of the Michigan Motorsports Hall of Fame. The Battle Creek, Michigan veteran will make his annual one start a season in the ASALMS at Berlin this weekend as well!

"Fast Freddy" will carry the familiar #47 on the side of an identically prepared Boyne Machine ride and will get the opportunity to race against his son at their home track once again in ASALMS competition! In addition, Terry VanHaitsma will make his first appearance of the season in a third Boyne ride sporting the #21.

Finally, a fourth Boyne car is entered for the weekend and will run in the companion USPRO Cup Series race at Berlin as Ionia, Michigan driver, Nick Bussell, a contender for the 2008 ASALMS Northern Division Rookie of the Year title, will make his first USPRO Cup appearance in the Tradition 50.####
