RACING RESUMES AT LAKEPORT SPEEDWAY WITH THE AIRPORT AUTO BROKERS LATE MODELS $1,500 TO WIN “A” MAIN EVENT

Lakeport Speedway is hosting a benefit for the ALS Association to fight Lou Gehrig's disease with NASCAR Driver Derek Thorn and the “Racin' for a Cure” team. Lakeport Speedway will donate 10% of the front gate ticket sales to the ALS Association and numerous local racers will donate half their purse to ALS Association. Airport Auto Brokers Late Models will be racing for $1,500 to Win and $200 to start the “A” main.

Derek Thorn will be driving the Noel McCormack Jr #83 Machine and the Airport Auto Brokers Late Model points leader Noel McCormack Jr will drive the #39x. McCormack has won his fourth straight feature in this bright yellow #83. Derek Thorn will try to make it five straight features for bright yellow #83, or will McCormack get his fifth win in a different Car? This could be the weekend for Bill Binns to get his second win of the year, or will this be the weekend for Kevin Ostern, Mike Lovell or Jeremy Hopkins to break McCormack’s streak? Also Sean Caturegli, Dan Knight, Jim Stillman, Forrest Kuecker, Charlie Collins and Allen Gibney have been showing some strong cars and have a very good chance of getting their first win of the season. Mike Bourbon has a new car and when he gets the bugs worked out he will be a contender. Eric Williamson, who has won a dash this season, knows what it takes to win a race so do not count him out. The new comer Berndt Akerstrom has not showed all his cards yet. That is why racing is very exciting; you never know what could happen and what an evening of racing could bring.
