RANDEL KING GET’S HIS FIRST TOP FIVE OF 2008 ON HIS 17TH BIRTHDAY

Randel King had a very special birthday Saturday night at Irwindale Speedway!

After his best qualifying effort of the year (7th) he was inverted to the front row of the 50 lap SLM race. After battling for the lead Randel was holding on to a loose condition and was doing everything he could to hold off Dan Moore for the 5th position for the majority of the race.

Randel King Racing has been competing at the Irwindale Speedway AC Delco SLM division for the entire 2008 season. After missing the first two races of the season due to building a brand new lefthander car, Randel King Racing has had very good success with the learning curve of moving into this very competitive class.

Randel King is currently sitting 8th in overall points and is leading the points for the Rookie of the Year

With Dallas Leininger leading this team each week to a new level, they have been trying new set up’s every week to try to close the gap on the leaders of this division.

“This team has a lot of heart and desire to do well with a limited budget” states Dallas.

Randel King was asked what he thought about running this year in the SLM division and his response was “The teams that run out here at Irwindale are some of the best around and it is a pleasure to be able to race with them. I love the new SLM that Dallas and my dad have built. I can’t thank them enough for all their help! Dallas and his brother Rick Leininger have built a very strong Chevy power plant to go with a great chassis. I think we are getting better every race”.

Randel King Racing has diligently been looking for sponsors to help this year. And with some help from Position One Motorsports and Molecule they have been able to plan on completing the rest of the season at Irwindale speedway.
