LITTLE NICKEL NIGHT AT GRAYS HARBOR RACEWAYThis Saturday Night its Little Nickel Night at Grays Harbor Raceway located at the Fairgrounds in Elma. The Independence weekend will see four classes in action on the fast high banked 3/8’s mile dirt oval, the Whitney’s Auto Group ASCS 360 Sprint Cars, Shipwreck Beads Modifieds, Cut Rate Auto Parts Hobby Stocks, and the HiLine Homes Hornets will be in action.

In the Whitney’s Auto Group ASCS 360 Sprint Car Division, two former champions are tied atop the point standings with 848 points, Raymond’s Glenn Borden Jr. last weekend’s feature winner and defending Sprint Car champion and 2006 Sprint Car Champion Shelton’s Jay Cole. Henry Van Dam from Enumclaw, last week points leader was involved in a early crash and dropped to third in points, eight behind at 840. Fourth in the standings is Tacoma’s Shawn Rice who trails Van Dam by only four points at 836. Rookie driver TH Hartman from Puyallup, continues to hold down fifth position with 798 points, Hartman also leads the Rookie of the year standings.

Former Shipwreck Beads Modified Champion Blair Shoemaker from Tacoma continues to lead the Modified standings with 722 points on the strength of one main event win, three top five and five top ten finishes in five races, 2007 Modified Champion Shelton’s Scott Miller sits alone in second with 700 points, while Rochester’s Leroy Lawhead is in third with 690 points, Greg Dineen from Aberdeen holds down the fourth position with 670 points. James Wolford from Seabeck rounds out the top five with 650points.

The Cut Rate Auto Parts Hobby Stock points leader Zack Simpson from Aberdeen, Simpson holds the top spot with 872 points on the strength of three feature wins, five top five finishes and six top ten finishes. Aberdeen’s Jack Parshall Jr. is a very close second with 864 points and two feature wins, five top five finishes and six top ten finishes. Third is another Aberdeen driver Joe German with 854 points, followed by Centralia’s Scott Westly with 842 points and Bremerton’s Keith Knowlton sits in fifth with 820 points.

The front gate opens on Saturday at 4:30 pm with the Racing to start at 6:30.####
