MOSES SMITH ANXIOUS TO GIVE TOYOTA ITS FIRST NCWS WEST WIN AT THE TOYOTA SPEEDWAY

ANTELOPE, California – With good momentum heading to Irwindale Speedway in 2007, Moses Smith and the HASA Pool Products/White Flyer team’s race was hampered by mid-race incident as they were closing in on the front of the field at the team’s July 4th visit to Toyota Speedway at Irwindale. Qualifying for the race on the inside of row five, the Bill McAnally Racing’s driver was quick to gain positions to seventh as the lap count read ten on the score board. Smith ran strong for the first sixty laps.

After taking on fresh right side tires and some minor changes, Smith reentered focused on the front when a spin in front of him had the field scrambling for position. Smith found himself sandwiched between cars causing damage to the HASA Pool Products/White Flyer car. The team from BMR led by crew chief Duane Knorr scrambled to make needed repairs but Smith would finish the race 66-laps down in 21st.

So far in 2008, Smith, who pilots the No. 16 HASA Pool Products/White Flyer Toyota Camry for BMR, is seventh in points and has a top five finish and four top tens. Smith, now a sophomore in the NASCAR Camping World Series West, is running hard toward his first win in the series.

“We had tough luck at Irwindale last year, so I am anxious to get back and have a better run,” said Moses Smith. “Every race we have gotten closer and closer to that elusive win. The No. 16 HASA Toyota team has really been working hard to make sure the No. 16 HASA Pool Products Toyota Camry is at its best for Irwindale.”

The California Highway Patrol “200” will be televised live on HDNet and be presented in an enhanced replay on SPEED Channel on July 18th at 1:30 pm EST.
