IRWINDALE, California - Temperatures and the number of laps being raced during Toyota Speedway at Irwindale's Firecracker 100 will mirror each other this Fourth of July. High Point Racing is ready for the challenge. Coming off of their best collective race weekend of the year in the Auto Club Late Model division, HPR will return to a five car team for the special holiday event.

2007 Rookie of the Year, Jace Meier, will be piloting the #56 High Point Racing / Justice Brothers late model. Jace has spent the last year in North Carolina attending Belmont Abbey College. His last race for High Point was the 2007 Fall Classic where he exited the race with a flat tire while running second about half way through.

"I'm super excited to be back out here with the Tim and all the guys from High Point. To have the opportunity to come back and race this year with guys like Ryan Kaplan and Colin Fleming is super exciting. Lindsey has certainly come a long way and I'm sure it will be tough to run side by side with her," Meier said.

Colin is enjoying a bit of momentum coming off of his victory in the last outing. He is hoping to impress some of the Camping World Series owners in town for the CHP 200 race weekend. One owner in particular is car owner Bob Bruncati from Sunrise Ford Motorsports who has been watching Colin race since he was just nine years old. When Colin's career of Formula One racing changed directions to NASCAR, Bob referred Colin to HPR for future development.

Ryan Kaplan returns to the number 51 car this weekend after missing a stint of races due to conflicting dates with the USAC Midget series. Ryan finished second at Altamont Raceway this plast Saturday in his Western States Sprint Car.

Lindsey King continues to show she can run with the boys as she finished sixth in her last outing. She raced hard, sometimes three wide with series veteran Mike Johnson for the last half of the forty lap main event. Although Lindsey was unable to complete the pass she did learn a lot about her driving style while running side by side and brought the car home unscathed.

Tim Huddleston hopes that Andrew Myers has a bit of a distraction this weekend while running the Camping World Series. Currently, the point's championship is Myers to lose, but one off night would bunch the entire field up and make a tight race to the final point's championship. With two of the top five drivers coming from HPR, it would definitely make it an exciting race to the finish.

Races start at 7:00 pm with an on-track autograph session kicking off at 5:30. Toyota Speedway is located in Irwindale, CA and host the Firecracker 100 along with the CHP 200 Camping World Series races this Fourth of July. For more information on High Point####
