FLASHCO SRL SOUTHWEST TOUR SERIES CELEBRATES INDEPENDENCE DAY HOLIDAY THIS SATURDAY AT ALTAMONT MOTORSPORTS PARK

WILTON, California - The Flashco SRL Southwest Tour Series is back at the half-mile oval in Tracy at Altamont Motorsports Park for round two of the Tri Holiday Series. A full field of more than twenty Flashco SRL drivers are expected, including the return of 2001 SRL champion Nathan Tucker out of Sonora, CA in the #41 Mid-Valley Iron and Metals Chevrolet as well as SRL veteran David Mantooth of Cotati, CA in his Hot Rods by Lew.com #5 Chevrolet.

Josh Combs who currently leads the 2008 Victory Circle Chassis Rookie-of-the-Year points chase will be going for his first SRL win after a strong 4th place showing in the first round of the Tri Holiday Series. Greg Voigt out of Goleta, CA will be trying to gain ground in the overall driver points standings in his #4 Auto-Pro Racing Engines Chevrolet from his current 2rd place position, only 15 points back of current points leader and short track favorite Jim Pettit in his #03 Top of the Hill Performance Ford. Tied for second in points with Voigt is tour car veteran Craig Raudman of Cottonwood, CA. His #2 Approved Memory Chevrolet has been strong with top 5 finishes at each race thus far. Additionally, local favorite Todd Bammer of Pleasanton, CA with his #18 Moeller Brothers Body Shop Chevrolet is among the pre-entries for this weekends 100 lap event that will be looking for a strong finish in the front of the field.

The Flashco SRL Southwest Tour Series will be part of a full day of racing Saturday at Altamont Motorsports Park that not only includes the SRL Southwest Tour 100, but also the NASCAR Late Model 100 (w/ Westcar stars), ALSC's on the half-mile, Future Champions and more! SRL practice begins at 9:30am, SRL Qualifying is at 12:30pm and the Flashco SRL main event will be at approx. 4:00pm.
