Sonoma - Featherlite Southwest Series Notes: In the qualifying race 4 cars got tangled up. It is not understood if they were the result of one or more incidents. The cars of Jeff Hill, Troy Adams were among those that sustained damage.

From atop of one of the war-wagons a man watched Buckshot Jones on the course and jokingly stated, "The guy couldn't drive a nail". Jones however did gain one of the coveted transfer positions for Saturday's "Snap-On 200".

Sonoma - Winston Cup Series Notes: Like the swallows at Capistrano, once a year the veterans of the road come out in force at Sears Point and this year is no different. It takes a certain driving style to navigate the twisting turns and unique challenges that roadcourse racing can produce. Now we are hearing names familiar to us from other road racing series.

Names like Dorsey Schroeder and Jason Leffler who are piloting cars for Singular Wireless. How about Brian Simo in the No. 90 Hillsboro car. Meanwhile, Ron Fellows is in the No. 87 Nortel Network machine. Boris Said is taking over the wheel of the No. 77 Jasper Engine Taurus and Anthony Lazzaro is in the TWC Motorsports No. 68 car.

The only incident so far in Winston Cup practice came when Ron Hornaday knocked down the tire barrier in turn 11. When asked what happened a corner worker replied, "Looks like he started braking about 100 yards too late. It must have been a long drive".
