SEDGWICK DISAPPOINTED AT LVMS TEST

NASCAR Winston West driver Bill Sedgwick expected to test Tuesday for the 24 Hour Fitness 150 NASCAR Winston West race Oct. 13 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

Sedgwick, pilot of the 24 Hour Fitness Chevrolet, had a rough day. On the second lap while warming up, Sedgwick was involved in an incident that sent him home early.

“Not a good day,” Sedgwick said. “It looks like a freeze plug came out of the engine and let all the water out running in Turn 3. The car just turned around. It never had any sign of anything wrong. It just turned around and into the wall.”

The car sustained a tremendous amount of rear-end damage. However, Sedgwick is optimistic for the 24 Hour Fitness 150 on Oct. 13.

“We have another car at the shop that we could run, but we’ll see if we can get this one back together and bring it back,” Sedgwick said. “I am looking forward to getting a top-10 finish.

“24 Hour Fitness is sponsoring the race. They are a great company and big supporter. We want to make a good showing, keep them excited and keep them involved in racing.”

Also testing Tuesday were Auggie Vidovich Jr. (Winston West), Jim Pettit II (Southwest Series), Todd Souza (Southwest Series), Troy Adams (Southwest Series), Sean Monroe (Southwest Series), Dave Byrd (Southwest Series), Doug McCoun (Southwest Series), Scott Busby (Southwest Series), Brett Thompson (Southwest Series) and Scott Brandt (Southwest Series).

In addition to the the 24 Hour Fitness NASCAR Winston West Series, the Nevada 100 NASCAR Featherlite Southwest Series will compete Oct. 13 and the stars of the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series will return to LVMS for the running of The Orleans 350 on Sunday, Oct. 14. Tickets are available for all three events by calling 1-800-644-4444. ####
