FEATHERLITE SOUTHWEST UNOFFICIAL RESULTS FROM PIR 02/02/02

Phoenix, Ariz -- Ken Schrader of Fenton, Mo. continued his mastery of the one-mile paved "Desert Jewel", Phoenix Int'l Raceway, by winning the first race of the 2002 racing season for the Featherlite Southwest Series, NASCAR Touring division Saturday afternoon February 2, 2002. Schrader lead 48-laps in route to his third win at Phoenix in FSWS competition. Schrader was followed to the line by FSWS sophomore Eddy Mckean, who finished in the second position for the second time at PIR. Finishing third was 1999 FSWS Rookie-of-the-Year Scott Lynch, with RE/MAX Challenge Series, NASCAR Touring regular Ed Hoffman in fourth, and Jeff Jefferson in fifth.

There were four lead changes among five drivers, with five caution periods for 25-laps. Dan Holtz set a new track record in qualifying with a quick lap of 27.091/132.885 mph. Adam Andretti of Brownsburg, Ind. was the Featherlite Southwest Series Rookie-of-the-Race.
