2002 SPEEDTRUCK CHAMPION, 2000 SPEEDTRUCK ROOKIE-OF-THE-YEAR
Source: The Racing Community
Date: 12/26/2002

CHAMPION, SON, BROTHER,GRANDSON FRIEND We were lucky to have him for a little while! |
I will lend you, for a little time,
a child of mine, he said
for you to love the while he lives
and mourn for when he's dead.
It may be six or seven years,
Or twenty two or three
But will you, till I call him back,
Take care of him for me?
He'll bring his charms to gladden you,
and should his stay be brief,
You'll have his lovely memories,
As solace for your grief.
I cannot promise he will stay,
Since all from earth return
But there are lessons taught down there,
I want this child to learn.
I've looked the wide world over,
In search for teachers true,
And from the throngs that crowd life's lanes,
I have selected you.
|
Now will you give him all your love,
Nor think the labor vain,
Nor hate me when I come to call,
To take him back again?
I fancied that I heard them say,
Dear Lord My will be done!
For all the joys Thy child shall bring,
The risk of grief we'll run.
We'll shelter him with tenderness,
We'll love him while we may,
And for the happiness we've known,
Forever grateful stay.
But should the angels call for him,
Much sooner than we've planned,
We'll brave the bitter grief that comes,
And try to understand.

Randy was truly a great friend. He always seemed to say the right thing at the right time to make everyone laugh. He always had a smile on his face, and all of us friends from middle school and high school made some of the greatest memories with Randy that will last a life time. He will truly be missed, my thoughts and prayers go out to Randy and his family, as well as all of the people that he touched and inspired. He was a true hero and champion and will live on forever in all of our hearts, we love you Randy. Love Always, Carolyn Watkins - Rudy A Dias
I didn't meet you but once, but I walked away impressed. Poise, maturity, class, I could go on but sufice it to say from one meeting I am still impressed. As a young adult you are the standard by which all others are judged. I thank you for shaking my hand. - The Wunderlich family
To the Brown family. Our thoughts and prayers are with Randy. Its hard to wonder why God takes somebody so close to our hearts at a early age. Some day we will all figure out that question. God bless your family Bob. - "The Big Cheese" (Bud) and Shirley Gilbert

I Will Miss You Randy Brown. You Will Forever Be In My Memories - Jeff Davis
We all miss you Randy. You touched a lot of lives while you were with us. You and your dad set an example together that many of us will continue to strive for in our personal relationships. You were a true Champion - on the track and off. We are deeply saddened that you are gone so soon. I am sure you are up there running laps with the angels, scuffing in some qualifiers. Probably already trying to find a set-up to break their track record. We know you will.
Our prayers are with you Bob, Wendy, Barbara and other family and close friends. May God comfort you. - Lamar Motorsports/CBA Motorsports
Our thoughts and prayers go out to Randy's family and team. - Jerry, Beth, Nic, Darik, Madison and Chad Faas
Bob, Bobby and Wendy
When I heard the news, I couldn't believe it, I'm speechless. Randy was truly a talented driver. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. - The Steelman Family
We send out our deepest smpathies to entire Brown family, we are truly very sorry for your loss. We've raced with the Brown family for many years from quarter midgets up to speed trucks. We have gotten to know them very well and always enjoyed their company. We know no words can ease the pain, but we are again so very sorry for your loss and the pain you are undoubtedly going through. Randy will always be a champion and will be greatly missed. - Ashli Owen a friend from school
Where do I begin? I never really made it to any of his races, but I was always happy when he came back to school and said, "I won!" like it was no big thing. Randy was a great friend to me, we knew each other for 9 or 10 years now. We went to school together and had a few classes and every class we had together was like a new experience everyday. We were always in trouble. ALWAYS!!! all my projects say, "BIG RAN 99" on them. I will never forget Randy and all or times spent together. I have nothing but awesome memories with him. I Love Randy so much and will miss him way more. He is always on my mind but definitely more now. My love is with him and his family. Randy,Wendy, Bob,and Barbara you will all be in my prayers. I wish you all the best. Take care, - Dave, Connie and Andrew Lewis
Our deepest heart felt sympathy go to Bob, Wendy and Barbara. No one can understand or feel your pain and sorrow at this time. This does not diminish the pain that we also feel. Our racing family has lost one of our most precious children. Our son Andrew (#04) is taking this extremely hard. He has cried for the loss of his mentor, his hero, his champion, his role model, his brother. Randy had a smile that melted our hearts. He had a relationship with Bob that most father's envy. His sense of humor was always abounding. He was always positive and never had a bad word to say about anyone. He will forever be in our hearts and memories until we are together again. Randy was loved by all!
"He fought the good fight, and he finished the race....." (2TI 4:7)
May God bless you and surround you in His never ending love, giving you peace and comfort. In Jesus name, Amen. - Shamrock Motorsports
REMEMBERED JOY
Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free!
I follow the plan God laid for me.
I saw His face, I heard His call,
I took His hand and left it all...
I could not stay another day,
To love, to laugh, to work or play;
Tasks left undone must stay that way.
And if my parting has left a void,
Then fill it with remembered joy.
A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss...
Ah yes, these things I, too, shall miss.
My life's been full, I've savored much:
Good times, good friends, a loved-one's touch.
Perhaps my time seemed all too brief-
Don't shorten yours with undue grief.
Be not burdened with tears of sorrow,
Enjoy the sunshine of the morrow.
Our deepest sympathy go out to the family -- - Crew Chief #4 Speed Truck Buddy, Cyndie, & Amy Johnson
Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Brown family. Randy was a wonderful guy and very talented driver. He will be missed very much, but thought of everyday. God Bless you Bob and your family through this very difficult time. - Gary Bryant , Tony & Sharon Barta, Bruce Hotchkiss

He was super to the little kids and other racers and he always had that wonderful smile. Who could ever forget that last race in Las Vegas. Graduation was always hard and we hate to see them finish their careers. But Randy Brown gave the QM Alumni another Championship for 2002! Our heartfelt prayers go out to you on your tremendous loss. - J.R.Ybarra
The Hatch family truly explains just how painful a loss this is to the local racing community. I truly am saddened by the great loss of not only a great and promising young driver but also by a great young man who any parent would have loved to call their son. I'm very sorry to here about your loss. Randy was very polite & nice to everyone! He was excellant at racing, & won the champion ship!!! I know what it feels like to lose someone that means the world to you, but it will get better! You just have to think of the good times now. He will always be in our heart!!! One day we will all be with him again! Our prayers are with you & your family! - Dana Bonar...Las Vegas, Nevada.
I would like to express my deepest condolences to the Brown family. I was lucky enough to meet Randy after he won a race at the Vegas Speedway. My brother worked with Randy and his crew and introduced us to Randy. He seemed like a very deticated warm individual. I was amazed how humble he was. He spent the majority of that time after the race.. signing autographs,,, and letting little kids sit in his truck. My son got to sit in the truck....and that really made his day. God has a greater plan for him. Maybe racing in heaven?? Again..deepest sympathy for the Brown Family. - Love Kenny & Marylou Smith #43 and Scott & Kimberly Porter # 66 Speedtruck
To The Brown Family-- We are so sorry! Randy was a very cool guy! Very fast on the race track and crazy in the pits. We had a very good time with him and the family. Randy was doing what he'd like to do. And God had other plans for him. We are so sorry that it happened to him so young but now he is God's Champion and he is holding his crown up high! You are all in our hearts! - Love, Tom, Maria and Lisa McCarthy
Bob Brown & Family,
We can’t express how sorry we are to hear of your lose. Randy was a very special person and to us became part of our family. We were not racing fans until we were introduced to your son through Steve and Roseann. We thought the world of him and loved to see him race. Even after winning a race or the championship, he took the time to make individual fans like our daughter feel special. She loved to make a poster for each race and wave it as he crossed the finish line. He was one in a million and it doesn’t seem fair that one so young should be taken away from us. All our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. We will never forget him and how talented and loving he was!!! - With love, Craig, Diana, Mitch, Austin & Troy Bres

At times like this we are all family and shall draw together to support one another. Bob, you have been a tremendous support for me during the last year and a half and now I shall return that favor. May Gods Grace be upon you forever.
This young man is our Champion.
With prayers and sincere grief. - Sammie Harmon
