WHAT: KUPL presents The Opening Night "New Millennium Celebration", featuring the NASCAR Weekly Racing Series Late Model Stock Cars and Exide ShorTrack Limited Sportsman on the half mile paved oval, plus Accel Street Stocks and "bump-to-pass" Bombers in quarter mile action.

WHEN: Friday April 7, 2000. Gates open at 5pm, with racing at 7pm.

ADMISSION: $11 for Adults, $8 for Seniors over 62 and Military w/ID, $5 for Juniors 13-17, $3 for Kids 6-12, under six are FREE. A Family Package for two Adults and up to four Kids ages 6-12 is $25.

2000 MARKS Historic Portland Speedway's 75th "Diamond" Anniversary. Portland Speedway enters its seventeenth season as a NASCAR Weekly Racing Series sanctioned facility this year.

Three-time Late Model Stock Car and '99 NASCAR Weekly Racing Series regional Champion Darren Shaw has moved to Mooresville, NC to further his NASCAR career, leaving the Late Model title a wide-open proposition for some twenty other drivers.

Portland Speedway will convert to a clay racing surface in July, and host a Pennzoil World of Outlaws sprint car show August 25,26.
