ZARETZKE WINS THREE IN A ROWEVERGREEN SPEEDWAY
Source: Evergreen Speedway
Doug David & Matt Murphy lead the field to the green in the 50 lap Super Stock feature with Murphy jumping into the early lead. The first yellow came out on lap 3 as Shane Harding spun coming out of turn four and at the same time Doug Davidson & Tom Moriarity tangled in turn 1 with Moriarity spinning. Murphy held the lead until lap 8 when visiting driver Jason Jefferson from Yakima, who earlier had set fast time took over the top spot from his sixth place starting position. The man on the move was Zaretzke as he moved up to second from his seventh place starting position. Jefferson was racing Late Model in order to get some track time for the Northwest tour race next Saturday night at Evergreen Speedway on the 3/8's. By lap 5 Zaretzke had moved into second followed by Murphy, Davidson and another Tour regular Wenatchee's Garrett Evans. Jefferson & Zaretzke battled for the next 10 laps side by side until lap 25 when a caution came out as Murphy & Davidson tangled and went off turn three, both cars where damaged and done for the night. Jefferson & Zaretzke continued to battle side-by-side inches from each other for the next 5 laps when Zaretzke finally got the edge at the line as Brice Christensen spun. When the green flag flew on lap 38 the running order was Zaretzke, Jefferson, Evens, Kelly Mann and Moriarity who drove a great race after the earlier incident after starting from the back. The final yellow came out on; lap 48 when Moriarity was the victim as he got spun after a chain reaction. Zaretzke held off a very determined Jefferson for the win with Mann third, followed by Evans and Joey Decker. Jason Fraser and teammate Naima Lang lead the NASCAR Randy's Ring and Pinion Bomber field to the green with Fraser jumping out front with only one caution on lap11 for Jim Downey. Fraser scored his first feature win. Earlier in the evening Fraser won his heat race & trophy Dash. Lang finished second with Bill Monn in a great run third. Travis Blackwood fourth and points leader Kyle Cooley fifth. Mike Wallace won the 20-lap B Main over Daryl Fogelstrom, Charlie Davis, Darrel Lotousky and Chad Smith. Tony Bunkleman won the 30-lap NASCAR Mini Stock feature over Matt Stone, Jaime Richardson, point's leader not Barber and Rick Lopinski. Shane Sawin won his third FEAR Super Figure 8 main event after Tony Crenshaw spun out leader Pat Clark on the last turn. Sawin avoided the wreck to cross the line first. Crenshaw & Clark recovered to finish in second and third, but where disqualified over rough driving. That moved 2002 champion Doug Delfel into second with Harry Clements in third, Malcom Lindberg fourth and Rick Dietz fifth. Troy Simianer came home the victor in the 25-lap Xtreme Contact feature winning for the second straight week. Freddy Kopp finished second followed by Adam hinds and Noah Chandler.
