DAYTONA BEACH, Florida -- Idaho's only NASCAR Sanctioned race track will hold the inaugural Pepsi "125" this Saturday night featuring the stars of the NASCAR Elite Division, Raybestos Brakes Northwest Series as they invade the Gem state for the first of two races in 2003. John Bender of Snohomish, WA leads the point standings after five events on the strength of two victories, with Yakima, Washington's Chris Hart in close pursuit just six points back. Brothers Jeff and Jason Jefferson hold down the third and fourth positions respectively, and Joe Benedetti rounds out the top five in the standings.
Three-time Magic Valley Speedway winner Garrett Evans is mired back in 12th place in the standings but can get his season back on track this Saturday night. The $44,472 Pepsi "125" is set to take the green flag at 9:00 pm MDT.
