Two races with 911 cars were held. The driver’s roster in the first 911 race consisted of employees of Blythe Freeway Towing. Lonnie Clouse took home the first-place bragging rights. Clouse was followed by Marshall Garrett, Johnnie Perez, and John Calder. The second 911 race featured Fair Board representatives. Kenny Kalian drove his car to a win followed by Rodger Gilstrap, Danny Smith, and Steve Montgomery. An evening of stock car racing at the Lucas Oil I-10 Speedway would not be complete without the competitive spirit of the Sunoco Fuel PURE STOCKS. John Mattie (16) grabbed a trophy in the Trophy Dash A. Jennifer Hope (9) drove her new car to a first-time win in the Trophy Dash B. In the final event of the evening, the Sunoco Fuel PURE STOCKS lined up for a 30-lap Main Event. Brian Faulkner (2) arrived at the track just in time to qualify. Starting in the 4th row, Faulkner patiently moved up through the traffic and took over the lead on the 28th lap. Faulkner held off John Mattie to take the checkered flag.

BLYTHE, California -- The Lucas Oil LATE MODELS and Sunoco Fuel PURE STOCKS competed at the Lucas Oil I-10 Speedway on March 13 in featured events sponsored by Blythe Freeway Towing. Ryan Becker (19) won the Lucas Oil LATE MODEL Trophy Dash. Later in the evening, the Lucas Oil LATE MODELS stepped up to the challenge in a 75-lap Main Event. Ryan Becker took an early lead held onto first place with Mark Schriner (82) reading the small print on Becker’s bumper up to lap 31, where Becker went into a spin and backed into the wall coming out of turn 4. Becker’s vehicle was disabled but able to reenter the race after receiving repairs in the pits. With the Becker spin, Schriner took over the lead and was able to drive his car through traffic and cross the finish line first. Youngster Shawn Steel (52) proved his mettle with a second place finish, just a few car links behind Schriner. Steel was followed by Doug Elliott (22), Glen Burke (96), and Bobby Keirns.
