A CLEAN SWEEP IN MEXICO FOR RON NAVA

Ron Nava and the All American Motor Sports team take the win at the Tijuana Grand prix. The two day event included over 70 entry's and 15,000 spectators. The sight of a "NASCAR " style race truck was a surprise for many of the competitors and a treat for the crowd who have never seen one live. Most considered it a novelty until the V8 powered speed truck took to the track.

With the standard 2 speed gear box during practice and qualifying Nava blistered the field by 4 seconds breaking the track record of this 1.6 mile road course then breaking it again knocking off another 2.5 seconds during qualifying placing him on the pole for the 30 minute timed event.

The field consisting of GT-1 corvettes, super charged nitrous burning all wheel drive Mitsubishi eclipse, turbo charged Porsche 911's, GT-3 style BMW's and S.C.C.A. American Sedans didn't take much note until the practice times were posted. " I felt like we were representing the NASCAR family by showing up at this event, So we really did alot of home work setting up the truck. This ASA Speed Truck went out in its original configuration as it came from the factory". Say's Nava. These guys were stunned and in disbelief that a "circle track" guy held the pole first time out.

On day two of the event Nava backed up his times by taking the lead on lap two and never looking back. With a 33 second lead at the checker's the ASA Speed Truck had no competition." The track was smooth and fast, The crowds were great and loved the truck! It was a huge victory proving that we circle track drivers can turn right. Being quick qualifier, setting the track record and winning the race was a nice bonus"
